 As a Tradesperson - Construction with our Waukegan team, you'll be responsible for fabricating and producing quality exhibits for assigned clients, bringing the physical creativity and liveliness of an exhibit to reality! Ideally, the right candidate will have woodworking experience within the exhibit / events industry. This role comes with a unique challenge and set of responsibilities. Tradesperson - Construction Responsibilities

• Have general knowledge of and ability to work with most of the following materials:  lumber, plywood, wallboard, plastics, glass, metals, electrical materials, cloth, paper, photographic blowups, cardboard and drapery materials.
• Ability to work from layouts or drawings with dimensions and instructions.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge in the use & set-up of bench, power and hand tools.
• Some general knowledge of blueprint reading.
• Understand and work from layouts or drawings with dimensions and instructions.
• Work on a job from start to finish with proper instructions and supervision.
• Some layout and supervision ability.
• Capable of working with or supervising helper in construction.
• Construction of high quality displays and cabinets.
• Capable of supervision and setup of exhibits and displays.
• Conduct him/herself in a businesslike manner at all times, using good judgment when coming in contact with customers.
• Provide mentorship and direction to assigned personnel.

Tradesperson - Construction Requirements & Qualifications 

• High School diploma / GED and one to three years of related experience.
• 1 - 3 years experience in carpentry / custom cabinetry experience required. 
• Working experience within the trade show industry preferred. 
• Must possess strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and complete project within budgeted hours with minimal direction.

Salary and Benefits Information

• Hourly Rate: $30.95 per hour. This rate was established through the affiliated Union and is non-negotiable. 
• Position Status: Hourly Union. This position is eligible for overtime earnings.
