Position Title: Staff Accountant
Position Reports to: Director of Accounting and Corporate Controller
Location: Colorado Springs working in the office with one day a week remote
Salary: $60,000- $70,000
Work Hours: 8 AM- 5 PM M- Th and Fr 8 AM- 12 PM
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Preferred:
- CPA candidate or CPA license preferred
- Prior construction accounting experience

Role Summary: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the accounts payable process, performing general ledger reconciliations, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Review and process vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
- Perform administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and organizing documents.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate supporting documentation to ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
- Assist with the reconciliation of general ledger and bank accounts.
- Support senior accountants and accounting management as needed.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles and company policies.
- Perform other accounting duties and ad hoc financial analysis as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
