POSITION SUMMARY  

The Manager of Impact & Evaluation is responsible for documenting and organizing data processes and files and oversees data analysts who collect, manage, and interpret data describing the impact of the College Advising Corps (CAC).  The Manager ensures that I&E timelines are transparent, and projects are completed on time, finds efficiencies and improves the accuracy of data-driven processes, and oversees the creation and maintenance of dashboards used to monitor program performance and provide stakeholders with real-time and historical information.  Within the I&E team, the Manager reports to and supports the I&E Senior Director who is responsible for designing evaluations, analyzing program performance, and disseminating the impact of CAC to a wide variety of stakeholders. 


 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES     

  • Directly supervises the work of one to three data analysts and promotes their professional growth. 
  • Ensures the timely completion of I&E projects that typically require cross-teams collaboration. 
  • Creates data dictionaries and data documentation for all processes and internal and external datasets; provides organizational structure for the warehousing of datasets and knowledge they generate. 
  • Increases the efficiency of data collection and management processes to increase the accuracy of reporting and program evaluation; promotes a culture of data for learning and practice across CAC. 
  • Serves as the I&E team’s primary point of contact for most cross-teams communication within CAC and for external Program Partners. 
  • Oversees / Creates interactive dashboards for monitoring program performance and making information about the profile and impact of CAC accessible to different stakeholders. 
  • Supports the I&E Senior Director for implementing program evaluation and grant reporting.

A successful Manager of the Impact & Evaluation team is a results-driven individual who has earned an advanced education degree, prior experience with managing staff and projects, and conducted or is at least familiar with program evaluation and/or applied research. The ideal candidate also: 

  • Applies analytical frameworks for problem-solving; empirical, data-driven strategies to support decision making; and best practices for successful project management 
  • Knows a variety of data collection tools and platforms surveys, data visualization, and performing statistical analyses; is comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite products, especially Microsoft Excel, and preferably is proficient using Tableau 
  • Understands different kinds of qualitative and quantitative research methods 
  • Communicates effectively and able to summarize large amounts of complex information to make it accessible and actionable for different stakeholders 
  • Has knowledge and experience with programming for college access advising 
  • Shares values that are in alignment with those of the organization and its’ mission 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS  

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Ability and willingness to travel to infrequent national events. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
