Description

   

Beveridge & Diamond, P.C., a leading environmental law firm, is looking for a Paralegal Assistant (junior paralegal) to support the Firm’s attorneys. We are seeking a team member who is highly-motivated and interested in conducting research in the fields of environmental protection, conservation and policy.


Summary of Duties and Responsibilities


1. Research, track, maintain legislative bills, judicial cases, industry-specific information and market trends.

2. Monitor and review periodicals, newspapers, trade press articles, websites, Congressional Records, etc., for current developments in the environmental field.

3. Prepare daily/periodic email alerts and summaries.

4. Maintain matrix, spreadsheet, or/and chart of legal information.

5. Assists with preparing PowerPoint presentations, including graphics.

6. Research companies and analyze current industry developments.

7. Conduct factual and basic legal research.

8. Assist in all aspects of the litigation and consulting process.

9. Organize and maintain paper and electronic case files and discovery materials.

10. Review, code and analyze documents in databases; compile data summaries.


Requirements

   

1. Bachelor's degree.

2. Excellent research and writing skills.

3. Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills.

4. Highly proficient in office computer programs such as Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and document management system software programs.

5. Ability to prioritize, organize and complete multiple tasks under time constraints.

7. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.

8. Ability to retrieve and distribute print volumes, push and pull packages and books weighing up to 20 pounds, and ability to retrieve objects from shelves of up to 8 feet high and replace same.

9. Ability to work more than 37.5 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position, which may frequently require irregular hours.

10. Paralegal certificate a plus

Salary Description
$60,000 - $85,000
