Shift Leader
Description

This position is responsible for overall shift operations, including but not limited to setting up and breaking down packaging line based upon operation schedule.  Ensuring correct material while adhering to standard operating procedures.  Will have oversight and monitoring of temporary employees.  Must have strong attention to detail and quality assurance.  Responsible to ensure strong communication and follow up across shifts.  Often responsible for “hand’s-on” tasks and duties to ensure efficient and safe operations.  

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

  • Responsible for setting up/breaking down line.
  • Pull correct material and ensuring Lot sensitive, Item sensitive and Location sensitive information.
  • Understand SOPs and properly instituting them.
  • Facilitate effective and timely communication across all shifts.
  • Provide Temporary employee guidance.
  • Responsible for safe forklift operation and to assist operations when needed.
  • Supports employees in day to day operations, tasks and troubleshooting.
  • Monitoring that shop rate is met while maintaining quality.
  • Ability to move temps around to increase output.
  • Provides attention to detail and proactively address issues in a timely manner.
  • Provides continuous quality checks and alerts management to issues.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Operates safely in all conditions.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Follows company policies and procedures.


Requirements

  •  Minimum of 1 year warehouse, contract packaging or leadership experience required.
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with appropriate equipment or assistance.
  • Customer contact and prior experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.  
  • Must respond well to questions and have ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents. 
  • Previous Forklift experience required.  Must obtain and sustain valid forklift license and have ability to train others.
  • Sharp attention to detail including accurate data and numbers.
  • Ability to organize/prioritize work in order to productively and efficiently meet deadlines.
  • Professional presence with the ability to diffuse difficult situations and problem solve effective solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment.
  • Experience with standard Microsoft Office and related technology.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities.
  • Ability to operate forklift with appropriate training.  Valid forklift license/certification or training preferred. 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours across all shifts, overtime, weekends, etc. based upon business operational demands. 
  • May be required to operate across various locations.
