McKinley Carter Wealth Services (MCWS) is seeking a Retirement Plan Client Coordinator to join its high-caliber team of financial professionals. The Retirement Plan Client Coordinator will work under the guidance of the firm’s Directors of Retirement Plan Services and Non-Profit Advisory Services. Key job responsibilities include the preparation of reports and financial paperwork, ensuring fiduciary compliance, and supporting client education and business development efforts.


Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Support Financial Strategists in the delivery of retirement plan and nonprofit advisory services. This includes but is not limited to preparing reports and fiduciary documents; confirming that plan sponsors and nonprofit clients are in compliance with fiduciary best practices; supporting employee education efforts; and providing support to plan participants.
  • Execute administrative tasks like scheduling, data entry, and filing with a discerning eye and minimal oversight.
  • Serve as the primary contact on all RPS and NAS operational matters such as billing and the coordination of various service providers.
  • Assist with the execution and delivery of client projects through independent research, analysis, etc.
  • Diligently monitor incoming RPS and NAS requests, acting with an appropriate level of urgency and escalating as needed.
  • Contribute to the firm's business development efforts, particularly those that may benefit the RPS and NAS service lines. This includes but is not limited to: contributing to the completion and delivery of RFPs; planning and attending events, etc.

Position Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in the financial industry. Retirement plan experience, including working with national record keepers (i.e. Voya, Empower, Fidelity) and software (i.e. Fi360, RPAG) strongly preferred.
  • Series 65 licensed and a commitment to deepening one’s knowledge in RPS and NAS through continuing education and certifications as determined by the firm.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with clients and employees of varied backgrounds.
  • A strong communicator who is effective in using both written and oral communication to relay information, provide instruction, advance projects, build rapport, etc.
  • Organized, with a keen eye for detail, and the ability to prioritize.
  • Proficiency in general office technology and the capacity to leverage advanced and/or specialized software and tools.
