TITLE: Senior Accountant

LOCATION: Remote

SUMMARY: The Senior Accountant is an integral role that will work under direct supervision of the Corporate Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general ledger accountability, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and financial reporting, as well as other special projects as assigned. This position is fully remote. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead month end close processes including preparing journal entries, detailed account reconciliations, financial reports & supporting schedules
  • Prepare, report, and maintain all fixed asset records and related balance sheet reconciliations
  • Organize and manage personal property tax filings for all applicable jurisdictions
  • Maintain lease accounting schedules in compliance with ASC 842 and streamline month end processes to mitigate errors and reduce inefficiencies
  • Work closely with Lease Administration to facilitate and reconcile payments to landlords
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretations
  • Manage quarterly inventory counts for medical supplies and vaccinations
  • Develop relationships and interact with other departments as necessary to resolve accounting issues
  • Introduce efficiencies to streamline existing manual accounting processes
  • Develop, establish, and document new accounting processes and internal controls
  • Coordinate with external tax accountants and auditors to ensure timely completion of tax returns and audit reports
  • Subject matter expert for general ledger maintenance and interfaces between the ERP and supporting systems
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting
  • Support revenue accounting and accounts payable functions as needed
  • Perform and assist with other duties and projects as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-6 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a corporate setting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required
  • Master’s Degree and/or CPA preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proficient in other Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Must have meticulous attention to detail and a desire to lead and implement process improvements
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work well independently, establish priorities, multi-task, and meet deadlines
