IGS is currently recruiting for a remote Senior .Net Developer to support our work with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).


Assignment of Work and Travel:

This is a remote access assignment. Candidate will work remotely daily and will remotely access VA systems and therein use approved VA provided communications systems. Travel is not required; however, the candidate may be required to attend onsite client meetings as requested.


Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to):

  • Create software development plans and strategies for ongoing operational needs.
  • Work as a team sharing code using GitHub, Azure Dev Ops, or similar tool.
  • Conduct quality control of software development.
  • Work with VA Architects on a gap analysis to determine what additional features and functions are required to handle the meta data and change management needs.
  • Conduct proactive risk identification and mitigation of software development process.
  • Develop and implement various classes and algorithms.
  • Interact with databases, metadata and database design and indexing.
  • Perform code troubleshooting and unit testing.
  • Write code documentation and provide comments on all code Conduct quality control of software development.
  • Conduct proactive risk identification and mitigation of the software development process.
  • Perform root cause analysis, outline corrective action, and identify mitigation strategies for production issues.
  • Rigorously test code and user interfaces.
  • Code using tools including but not limited to; SOAP and REST API’s, Angular, MVC, ODBC, .NET Core, Web API, IRIS REST API, and.NET Framework.
  • Store documentation in a central location like MS SharePoint or another centralized repository.
  • Perform web development (ASP.NET and Cache ZEN), React, jQuery, Angular and environment setup within a secure environment (SSL/TLS) including certificate management.
  • Integration and performance testing of developed applications.
  • Create interfaces with Intersystem IRIS via Web Services, REST, or other secure mechanisms.
  • Create software using Model, View, and Controller (MVC) or other appropriate software architectures.
  • HealthShare, C#, SAS - Statistical Applications for Sciences (Enterprise Miner, Grid), Visual Studio/Eclipse, JavaScript and JavaScript libraries, ArcGIS, MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle and other similar DB's., Tableau.
  • Create software using C#, SQL, Python, ASP.net, MSSQL, PowerBI DAX, JavaScript, jQuery and various JavaScript libraries, Visual Studio, Data Express, Eclipse, SSIS, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Bootstrap, DevExpress, PrimeNG, Hangfire, SSMS, Postman, IIS, Kubernetes, Fortify, Microsoft Threat Modeling Tool, GitHub, OpenAPI (Swagger)
  • Identify, fix, and resolve bugs and errors in code
  • Deploy applications to production and test environments and manage their configurations.
  • Maintain and update existing codebases to keep them up to date and secure.
  • Collaborate with other developers and teams.
  • Research and keep up to date with new technologies and trends in all languages and frameworks used.
  • Use version control systems such as Git to manage code changes and track development progress.
  • Monitor the performance of applications in IIS and troubleshooting issues related to those applications running in IIS.
  • Implement Large Language Models (LLMs) for potential use and enhancement of current and future program design.
  • Update .Net Technical Guides, Configuration Guides, Code Libraries, .NET Software User Guides and any associated documentation.
  • Document all .NET development activities in the Bi-Weekly Progress Report.
Requirements
  • BS Degree: computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience; additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Be able to code in .Net and other languages to include, but not limited to: Java, MVC, TSQL, XML, JSON, HTML, AJAX, FHIR, HL7, PowerBI, Python, R, IRIS Object Script, HealthShare, C#, SAS - Statistical Applications for Sciences (Enterprise Miner, Grid), Visual Studio/Eclipse, JavaScript and JavaScript libraries, ArcGIS, MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle and other similar DB's., Tableau
  • Experience with the following technology: C#, SQL, ASP.net, MSSQL, PowerBI DAX, JavaScript
  • Experience with Use of Agile software development methodology for software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship due to clearance requirement.
