The Financial Analyst plays an integral role in the monthly financial reporting process for the YMCA of Southwest Florida, including the SKY Academy charter schools. This position will lead the financial analysis for the YMCA and all affiliated operations, including the charter schools and ELA’s. Area’s of emphasis will include monthly variance analysis to budget, prior year and industry benchmarks. Assisting with the monthly financial closing process and with the preparation of internal financial statements, account analysis and reconciliation functions. In addition, this position will be responsible for leading the financial budgeting and forecasting processes, and various other ad hoc analysis and projections for the YMCA. The Financial Analyst will develop leading performance indicators, forecast future revenues and expenditures and evaluate current performance using a variety of analytical methods such as ratio analysis.
This position works with the CFO, VP of Finance and other executive-level team members to provide direction and leadership for YMCA finance and business operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Prepare monthly and YTD variance analysis against various benchmarks, including budget, forecast, and prior year actual results.
•Work closely with management teams across the association to help them to better understand their financial metrics and performance, and identify areas of opportunity to improve their operating margins.
•Lead the association’s annual budgeting and forecasting processes. This will include providing training, assistance and review of operational budgets and forecasts. Prepare Association level budgets and forecasts for assigned revenues and expenditures. Assure accuracy of budgets and forecasts in the SGA general ledger system. Present association budgets and forecasts to executive management.
•Prepare operating margin analysis by core business unit and key programs.
•Prepare pricing analysis and recommend pricing strategies for membership and programs.
•Assist with pro forma analysis of future business opportunities.
•Provide analysis support for capital projects, including vendor evaluations and quotes.
•Support and assist in the monthly closing of the books for the YMCA and the related charter schools, as assigned.
•Prepare account reconciliations and account analyses as assigned.
•Identify and provide reporting of expenditures and revenues related to grants (Grants Tracking)
•Support the annual financial and special audits by providing supporting documents and analysis requested by auditors.
•Analyzing current and past financial data and performance by organizing and evaluating data from a range of sources to assess fiscal performance and financial condition of the association
•Perform risk analysis on existing and future operational opportunities
•Preparing internal reports, dashboards and projections
•Identifying trends in financial performance and providing recommendations for improvement
•Assisting in establishing and monitoring margin guidelines
•Develop and perform internal audits of key operating procedures that impact financial reporting and controls
•Create and maintain a set of standard financial statement reports from SGA to assist management with understanding and evaluating financial performance.
•Create ad hoc/customized reports in SGA as needed to support Operations and Finance departments
•Provide training to users on report writing capabilities in SGA
•Evaluate current and potential financial computer systems for improvements to support financial reporting and analysis
•Evaluating expansion opportunities and projecting return on investment and return on impact.
•Assist in onboarding process for new and promoted employees in areas of use of SGA, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting
•Assist with Strategic Planning process including plan development and tracking
•Coordinating with other members of the finance team around financial best practices
•Assist with development and delivery of annual financial best practices training event for management teams

•Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance or equivalent.
•Five or more years of experience in accounting and financial analysis.

•Must be able to meet the association’s background screening requirements.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
•Completion of YMCA of the USA Child Abuse and Neglect class
•Completion of the YMCA’s Blood Borne Pathogens training
•Staff Safety Requirements
•Additional training classes as recommended by the Supervisor.
