Key Responsibilities:
Assist with calibration, predictive, preventative and breakdown maintenance on a variety of complex industrial electrical and instrument and control systems to ensure plant availability and to maximize plant efficiency, including.
- Power distribution and switch gear (120V to 235V)
- 125/250 V Essential battery systems
- Process instrumentation
- Plant process control systems
- Telecommunications/video conferencing
- Physical security systems
- Motors and motor controls
- Lighting systems
- Protective relaying
- Process communications and networking
- Analytical measurement
- Final control devices including valves, actuators, and drive units
- Electrical support services
Provide assistance with project management and coordination to facilitate safe, accurate, efficient implementation of new equipment and systems, including.
- Assist with interface for contractors and temporary employees, support craft and non-craft personnel.
- Assist with planning, implementation, startup and long-term operation of new equipment and systems, including vendor interface, budget oversight, schedule development and timeline adherence.
- Technical support for engineering and operations.
Install, configure, repair, and perform process software system design on computer-based systems to insure safe and reliable operations. Develop and manage computer/microprocessor-based technologies and digital communications such as.
- “SMART” instrumentation

Education & Experience
Enrolled in an associated degree in applied science or equivalent experience with electrical, electronic, HVAC/refrigeration or instrumentation and controls is required. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Willingness to assist with all aspects of maintenance to complex industrial electrical and instrument & control systems, including maintenance management activities for immediate and long-term needs.
- Ability to follow job direction and project coordination for minor and major process retrofits and new projects
- Skill and ability to learn, interpret and follow standards, safety procedures, regulatory and environmental compliance practices in support of REC’s safety program, environmental management system and Rainbow Energy Centers Electrical Safety Program.
- Ability and responsibility to work safely alone and with others while following REC safety rules, certifications and procedures.
- Ability and responsibility to ensure security procedures are followed including immediate notification of potential incidents.

Working conditions will be indoors and outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather conditions of extreme cold or heat. Must be able to travel to various locations throughout the plant and facility grounds. Conditions in the plant and facility grounds may include extreme temperatures, noise levels, and heights. There will be overtime, and/or working weekends and infrequent overnight travel.
This position requires the ability to occasionally to frequently sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 20-50 pounds frequently and bi-lateral carry up to 100 pounds on rare occasion. The ability to climb, balance, work at heights and work with arms above your head occasionally up to frequently. Ability to occasionally up to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist and squat, work on even and uneven surfaces and ability to work occasionally in confined space areas. Ability to frequently push, pull, carry, grasp and finger objects. Subject to frequent vibration and hazards and on occasion exposed to fumes, dust or mist. Must wear protective equipment when required. Must be able to differentiate colors, have vision ability to encompass close-up and distant work, and the ability to speak and hear.
