General Summary:
Provide engineering support services on plant systems and projects to ensure economical, reliable, safe and efficient operation of Coal Creek Station.
Key Responsibilities:
Assists the engineering group in the completion of projects in accordance with REC standards.
- Monitor project expenditures.
- Establish and maintain schedules.
- Design project specifications
Provides engineering assistance on new and existing plant equipment and projects to ensure safe and efficient plant operations, as well as performs routine engineering duties.
- Conduct calculations, tests, and established engineering procedures.
- Assist with analysis and technical assessments, record condition and other measurements of equipment in or related to the generation facilities.
- Research, perform studies and evaluate current equipment failures and system changes to maintenance and operational procedures and practices to achieve optimum system and equipment performance.
- Draw plans, conduct surveys, and research structures or equipment to correct or resolve operating problems and conditions.
Maintains Heat Rate awareness and promotes the reduction of heat rate by participation on teams and through project design.
Education & Experience
Knowledge typically acquired through a high school diploma, GED or equivalent is required. Must be enrolled in college and have attained third year status in an engineering curriculum from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited institution. General engineering knowledge and experience obtained through college curriculum. Previous co-op, internship and/or work experience is preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license.
