The Opportunity

In the role of Vice President (VP) of Application Development, you will be responsible for the management of application development and software delivery for the Payments vertical. In this position, you will help foster growth and efficiencies for the vertical with deliver of high-quality payments software solutions within the guidance of the system architecture. 


What You Will Do

  • Manage application development teams within assigned brands, establish goals, motivate and oversee coaching and career development.
  • Drive applications toward modern product and web designs in accordance with business needs and product roadmaps. Drive development using modern methodologies and tool sets.
  • Provide guidance and standards for the planning and prioritization of resource conflicts. Customer demands, and support issues.
  • Oversee technical processes from design through development, testing and deployment to ensure the software comes to life as required and is deployed successfully into production.
  • Work with the development managers to establish and maintain standards, design patterns, and frameworks for future projects.
  • Work with peers in other verticals to apply consistency across the company as required.
  • Study and analyze other technologies, standards and practices for continuous improvement and to ensure quality of implementation.
  • Work with the business to ensure prioritization of activities and alignment of tasks and expectations.
  • Collaborate with Information Security team to ensure compliance with established standards, best practices, and quality code development.
  • Drive consistency in Software Development processes and methodologies across the vertical
  • Align activities with product roadmaps, participate in PI planning sessions with Product Management
  • Work with partners and vendors to mature the development teams into modern practices and architectures, using the latest tools and systems as required.
  • Support business and technology goals accordingly.
Requirements

  

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced Degree or Professional Certification is preferred.
  • 5 Years experience in Software Development Leadership
  • 7 Years experience in design, development, QA and delivering software products.
  • Experience with payment software is required

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience building and deploying systems into public cloud using established tools and technologies
  • Experience with Agile / Kanban development methods and practices
  • Experience in development with technologies appropriate to the brands in the vertical
