Job Summary
We are seeking to hire a talented Data Scientist to work with our Data Analysis department to achieve its mission of supporting all areas of the business by identifying trends, producing solutions, and translating data. The central focus of this role is to use advanced statistical and analytical skills such as data mining, algorithms, machine learning principles, and statistical techniques to extract insights from large data sets and develop data-driven solutions to support business decisions and operations.

Responsibilities

- Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in the field of data science and provide recommendations for incorporating new technologies and methodologies into the practice
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of solutions
- Contribute to the strategic and statistical thinking in relevant project teams.
- Collect and analyze statistics and information from multiple sources to spot trends and to gain maximum insight and communicate informed conclusions and recommendations
- Conduct statistical modeling and experiment design, and tests and validates predictive models
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of data models and algorithms, and make necessary improvements or adjustments

EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Must pass required background check
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field / equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role
- Proficient in using Looker, or similar data visualization tools to communicate insights and findings to stakeholders
- Strong Excel or Google Sheet skills
- Experience with database query tools, SQL, and programming languages
- Experience developing statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics solutions to address business challenges.
- Ability to work with large amounts of complex structured and unstructured data to extract insights and drive decision-making.
- Collaborate with the data team to collect and preprocess data, and build, test, and maintain data pipelines.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) as well as the ability to interact with stakeholders, team members, external vendors, various levels of management, and internal clients with assorted levels of data and business intelligence experience
