About the Position


The Director of Communications is responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of strategic communication initiatives that enhance the organization’s brand image, both internally and externally. This role involves crafting compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences, managing public relations, and ensuring cohesive messaging across all channels.



Essential Functions

  • Develops and implements a comprehensive multi-channel communications strategy, encompassing marketing automation, customer journey mapping, internal communications, and public relations.
  • Ensures consistency of messaging across all external and internal communication platforms, including press releases, newsletters, corporate announcements, and social media.
  • Leads and mentors a team of communication professionals, ensuring alignment with marketing strategies and company values.
  • Develops and executes communications strategies aimed at attracting new members and cultivating long-term relationships with existing ones, directly impacting lead generation and conversion KPIs.
  • Collaborates with internal teams (marketing, sales, HR, etc.) to create integrated communication strategies and materials.
  • Leads the development of key messaging and brand positioning for campaigns and initiatives.
  • Leverages marketing automation tools to streamline communication efforts and personalize customer experiences.
  • Creates customer journey maps to identify touchpoints and optimize the customer experience across all channels.
  • Develops and executes internal communications plans to keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with company goals.
  • Safeguards the company’s brand image by ensuring alignment of all communications with the company's mission, vision, and values.
  • Designs and manages public relations activities to secure positive media coverage and enhance brand reputation.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and manage relationships with media outlets.
  • Ensures that all communication is clear, engaging, and tailored to the intended audience.
  • Leads crisis communication efforts, developing strategies and statements to address potential reputation risks.
  • Drafts and distributes press releases, coordinate interviews, and manage media coverage to maximize positive exposure.
  • Monitors industry trends and competitor communications to adapt strategies for the company's evolving needs.
  • Tracks and reports on communication effectiveness, using data to refine approaches and strategies.
  • Acts as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on communication-related matters.
  • Manages external resources, including agencies and contractors.
  • Adapts quickly to frequent process changes and improvements.
  • Provides recommendations to improve processes and policies.
  • Attends all department, team, and company meetings as required.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of B2C and B2B email marketing in a fast-growth organization.
  • 7+ years of management experience leading high-functioning teams in the pursuit of company growth goals.  Experience developing, planning, and executing marketing campaigns, along with end-to-end performance analysis and campaign reporting. 
  • Expert understanding of marketing automation principles and experience utilizing relevant tools.
  • Expertise in customer journey  mapping and ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency, including MS Excel and Project Management  applications.

Pay Range and Compensation Package


Salary ranges may vary depending on location. Actual compensation depends on education, experience, and relevant skills. In addition, benefits include:
