HEALTHY FATHERS EDUCATOR (Gentleman applicants)

Position Summary:

The Healthy Fathers Educator, (Gentleman position) provides education for fathers, and facilitates educational workshops based on skills and evidence-based curricula to provide a dynamic learning environment for participants. The fatherhood curriculum delivered is designed to help form, improve, and sustain skills specific to the experiences of fathers. The curriculum delivered is designed to improve caregiver skills, reduce child abuse, and help parents deal with difficult behaviors. The position completes all documentation and develops all reports as required.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Recruit and retain referral sources and program participants.

• Ensure services are provided in a culturally competent manner supporting the dignity and respect for all people served.

• Engage workshop participants to learn skills necessary for effective parenting, co-parenting, healthy relationships, and healthy marriage.

• Deliver programs and or partner with community agencies to deliver training to include interpersonal skills training, social skills and parenting skills.

• Ability to facilitate fatherhood curricula to ensure skills transference.

• Administer surveys to program participants in order to ensure the program is meeting the needs of the participants.

• Record client information and service delivery, and report program statistics and other information as required by JFCS and funder.

• Aid in the program's growth by providing feedback to Supervisor of Counseling Programs.

Requirements

Education/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in a behavioral science or education.

• Minimum of three years of experience in a related field.

• Knowledge of community providers and services.

• Ability to work with hard to reach or resistant individuals and families.

• Excellent presentation skills and the ability to lead dynamic workshops.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Experience/passion for strengthening family relationships.

• Experience working with couples, parents, youth, etc. in a group setting.

• Understanding of cultural diversity including the culture of poverty.

• Knowledge of the role of social, economic, and environmental factors in the development and resolution of personal and family problems.

• Ability to drive and stand/sit for extended periods of time.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products and demonstrate competent computer skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Typically work in an office setting but may be assigned more physical duties such as transporting office and sundry supplies.
