Description

The Director of Sales, Equipment is responsible for driving the overall sales strategy, performance, and growth of the equipment division. This role leads the sales team in delivering solutions that meet customer specifications and maximize revenue through both direct and distribution channels. The Director works closely with VPS of the segments, engineering and operational teams to ensure that products meet mechanical and electrical requirements. Through consultative selling, the Director will develop ROI-based value propositions and cultivate long-term partnerships with our National Accounts and Key Accounts. The position requires strategic leadership, strong communication skills, and a commitment to fostering collaboration and driving organizational growth.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Exercise strong, proactive and strategic leadership within the team utilizing resources throughout the company to achieve/exceed sales targets for all sales channels.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both direct and distribution customers. 
  • Be able to understand applications and communicate with the engineering team.
  • Understand specifications from customers (i.e. mechanical and electrical requirements). 
  • Create quotations.       
  • Technical understanding on operation of equipment (70% mechanical, 30 electrical).  
  • Support at customer sites.
  • Consultative selling (ROI and value proposition)
  • Required to visit Key Accounts and National Account headquarters to develop relationships with key decision makers.
  • Demonstrate the highest level of integrity, business ethics and mature business judgment.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree is a strong plus, preferably in the field of Business or Sales, technical degrees are a plus - mechanical      and/or electrical.
  • 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the packaging industry.
  • Have a consistent track record of developing ways for a company to preserve margins by selling value, service, quality, and not      necessarily through price…consultative selling versus transactional.
