Maintenance Technician- Electrical/Mechanical (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift)
Description

  

This position reports to the Maintenance Group leader, Maintenance Supervisor, and Maintenance Manager and is responsible for performing general maintenance on all equipment, machinery, and buildings. This work involves such trades as Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Plumbing, and Carpentry Skills.  MUST HAVE ELECTRICAL.

Minimum level of education / training required/certificates/licenses: 

This position requires a General Educational Diploma (GED) or High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma. Vocational and or Technical training in Electrical/Mechanical Trades or Engineering is needed.


Essential Responsibilities:

  

1. Performs   accurate general & preventive maintenance on all equipment, machinery,   and buildings which involves trades such as electrical, mechanical,   hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and carpentry, in a timely manner.

2. Properly   fills out work orders and checksheets with detail and notes any changes   required for closure of work order and/or check sheets. Also accountable for the   accuracy of work order information to match time worked.

3. Professionally   communicate with Supervisor, Group Leader, & other associates on daily   tasks completed, and information required on tasks not completed at the end   of shift. Accurately communicates information to the next shift personnel.

4. Has   working knowledge of mechanical equipment and operation and the ability to efficiently   troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns or improvements needed to enhance   equipment.

5. Has   working knowledge of electrical controls, controllers, and Programmable Logic   Controller’s (PLC) on equipment and the ability to troubleshoot electrical   failures, and determine needed repairs to improve the operation.

6. Based on company needs   a flexible work schedule and/or overtime is needed.

7. Able to accurately   perform Custodial Cleanup Position in the absent of Associate.

1. Computer   knowledge and programs related to equipment operations.

2. Plex   : Preventative Maintenance (PM) activity, work orders, inventory, and order request system, 

3. Small hand tools ( Refer to Maintenance Tool   List)

4. Electrical   Metering devises

5. 5-   Point Harness

6. Aerial   boom and scissor lift equipment

7. Confine   space equipment 

8. Forklifts

9. Cranes   and hoist

 

Supervisory   Responsibilities:

This position does not supervise   others.

Environmental: Employee is responsible for complying and supporting any environmental policies and programs put in place by Batesville Tool and Die (BTD). Employee may not bring any environmentally hazardous substances or compounds into BTD and is always conscious of the impact on the environment. Support and adhere to Technical Specification (TS) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) activities and procedures.

Other:  Perform any other duties as assigned with enthusiasm and without complaint. 

        

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend crouch, and crawl. The employee is frequently required to go into confined space areas. The employee will also be required to frequently lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 60 pounds with assistance. The employee is frequently required to go up to 40ft in aerial lift equipment to perform duties on machines and building.

Travel

Occasional domestic and/or international travel may be required for this position.

5. 5-point harness equipment

6. Fire Retardant Uniforms, and other Arc Flash devices when performing Electrical job functions (Only for Electrical approved position)
