As the seasonal part time Food Services Team Leader you will support and assist the Food Services Director in all areas of the ministry operations in the Coffee Shop at Willow South Barrington. You will provide best in class customer service providing welcoming and prompt service. In addition, you will oversee coordinating, recruiting, equipping, supporting and guiding the serving experience for volunteer teams in the Cafe. You will help volunteers to deploy and develop their hospitality gifts in the service of the congregation in a fun, thriving environment.
This is a part time seasonal position and so the schedule will vary as needed to support the team during busy times or cover vacations. The pay rate ranges between $15 - $16 per hour and is dependent upon experience and skill set.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensuring that service and sanitation standards are always maintained
- Perform various opening and closing responsibilities including, but not limited to, set up, various POS tasks, cash handling, facility cleaning tasks etc.
- Assist in overall ministry operations ie. cafe deli cart prep, catering needs, kitchen work (doing dishes, maintaining a clean kitchen, cleaning out the fryer)
- Provide quality beverages and food products consistently by adhering to all recipes and presentation standards
- Anticipate customer and facility needs by consistently evaluating the environment and customers cues. Communicate to the director so the team can respond as necessary to create a welcoming environment
- Assist with the scheduling of volunteers and volunteer teams for weekend, weekday, and special event serving opportunities
- Help the Food Services Director develop, maintain, and revise guidelines for volunteer training and weekly operating plans
- Learn and assist in catering by helping customers, entering orders, putting catering orders together, preparing food, and working in Mazevo
- Assist director with the ordering, inventory and stocking as needed
- Create and send out newsletters
- Assist in processing volunteer onboarding and screening processes.
- Assist in recruiting new volunteers to build volunteer teams
- Train the volunteers in order to ensure that they are properly equipped for their serving experience
- Create a fun environment where the guests and volunteers feel equally cared for and appreciated
- Build one on one relationships with the volunteers in order to develop a true sense of community within the serving teams
