Job Summary


Create and enter Bills of Material (BOM) and Routing information into the Oracle system using appropriate guidelines. Update existing BOM and Routings as necessary based on feedback from engineering and production. Enter and schedule work orders into Oracle, balancing capacity with requested ship dates and material availability. Enter sales order information into the Oracle system for use by Planning and other departments. Perform various Planning functions and projects to aide order flow throughout the company.

 

Job Responsibilities


  

  • Enter BOM and Routings into Oracle, understanding how those settings will affect the job schedule capacity, material availability and inventory levels in the plant.
  • Use a combination of set guidelines, estimates and historical data to determine proper run times, operations, BOM components, and quantities when information is not provided and work with the engineering department to ensure that those guidelines are being followed.
  • Update and maintain BOM and Routings through the existing Change/Add/Delete (CAD) and Engineering Change Order (ECO) process.
  • Enter work orders (jobs,) update and maintain available capacity for each department while performing a variety of checks for accuracy, capacity, and material availability while communicating necessary changes to necessary parties.
  • Create and maintain item numbers as well as enter sales order line items into Oracle, verifying their accuracy, while working within the established credit policies as needed.
  • Understand how work orders flow and be able to analyze exceptions to ensure accurate disposition of work orders and use a system to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained on planned subassemblies and finished goods in the plant.
  • Read and understand job packet information and shop drawings to ensure that proper drawings are sent out with job packets and that job packets are accurate.
  • Create and update Excel and Word documents, look for ways to improve systems and procedures to improve efficiencies.

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work


This is a full-time position. Core hours are Monday- Friday 8:00- 5:00 with overtime and irregular hours as needed.


Physical Demands


This position will require an employee to be able to be sedentary for long periods of time in an environment with the noise level of an average office.
