Position Summary


The Community Education Navigator will work closely with the Community Education Supervisor to support the recruitment, case management, and educational services provided through partnerships with the College of Marin (COM) and other community stakeholders. This position will focus on outreach, client navigation, and administrative support, ensuring that students in our education and other Canal Alliance programs receive the guidance and resources they need to achieve their goals. The role is vital for maintaining strong client engagement and collaboration with internal and external partners. This is a full-time, non-exempt position requiring on-site work with occasional hybrid opportunities. Candidates must live in the State of California. 


Essential Functions


Program Coordination and Administrative Support

  • Assist the Community Education Supervisor in coordinating educational programs, including ESL classes and other initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date schedules for classes, workshops, and student services in collaboration with COM and other partners.
  • Provide logistical support for events, meetings, and classes, including setting up facilities and materials. 

Client Outreach and Engagement

  • Conduct outreach to recruit students for educational programs, especially focusing on Canal Alliance’s ESL and other educational offerings. 
  • Develop and nurture relationships with community partners and local businesses to promote educational opportunities.
  • Participate in community events to raise awareness about Canal Alliance services and opportunities. 

Case Management and Student Support

  • Provide navigation services to clients, including intake, progress monitoring, and facilitating access to supportive services such as workforce development. 
  • Use a client-centered approach to help students stay engaged in their educational journey by tracking attendance, addressing barriers to participation, and offering guidance. 
  • Assist with managing student records and updating information in the Salesforce CRM system. 

Collaboration and Partnership Support

  • Work closely with other Canal Alliance teams and external partners, supporting joint efforts to enhance client success. 
  • Assist in organizing volunteer opportunities and coordinating volunteer activities in collaboration with the Academic Success Supervisor and Workforce Development team. 

Data Management and Reporting

  • Track and report student outcomes by collecting and inputting data into the Salesforce system. 
  • Assist in preparing reports for internal use and for grant-related purposes. 

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Support the Community Education Supervisor with additional administrative and programmatic duties as needed. 
Requirements


  • 2+ years of experience in client-facing roles, preferably in education, case management, or community services. 
  • Associate or bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience in education, social services, or a similar field. 
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (REQUIRED). 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, and Salesforce or other CRM systems (preferred). 
  • Knowledge of adult education, workforce development systems, and cultural responsiveness. 
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with clients, staff, and community partners. 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while managing multiple tasks effectively. 

Compensation and Benefits


This is a full-time (32 hours a week), non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $32 to $34 (DOE). Benefits include:
