Position Summary


Canal Alliance is seeking a Community Education Supervisor. This role is pivotal in supporting the partnership with the College of Marin (COM), specifically for the satellite site hosting various educational classes, and in guiding participants through our internal programs aimed at community integration and skill development. The Community Education Supervisor focuses on the recruitment, support, and case management of clients enrolled in these educational programs and other internal initiatives. This position provides navigation services, guidance, and coaching in educational and workforce development, ensuring clients reach their desired outcomes. The successful candidate is a passionate believer in the power of education to improve the lives of immigrants and their families. The Educational Pathways Supervisor reports to the Senior Manager of Adult Education. This is a full-time, non-exempt position requiring on-site work with occasional hybrid opportunities, including routine evening and occasional weekends. Candidates must live in the State of California. 


Essential Functions


Program Coordination and Supervision

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the satellite site for various educational classes in partnership with the College of Marin and other partners. 
  • Coordinate with community partners, including COM, to align class schedules, curriculum updates, and student needs. 
  • Ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of facilities used for educational programs. 

Client Outreach and Recruitment

  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to recruit students for various educational programs and at least 6 ESL classes in collaboration with COM. 
  • Foster relationships with community organizations, local businesses, and other stakeholders to promote educational opportunities. 
  • Conduct informational sessions and attend community events to raise awareness about Canal Alliance services. 

Case Management and Client Support

  • Provide case management and progress monitoring for adult clients. 
  • Use a restorative justice and client-centered approach to identify clients' needs and arrange for access to support services. 
  • Engage clients in their education by monitoring attendance, regularly communicating with students, and empowering them to own their educational journey. 

Program Navigation and Development

  • Collaborate with other Canal Alliance teams on events and workshops that provide recruitment opportunities for ESL students.
  • Implement a client outreach strategy, focused recruitment, client enrollment process, and work placement assistance. 
  • Track client progress at entry, program certification/graduation, and at regular intervals. 
  • Manage an adult education navigator that would support with case management and administrative tasks, as assigned. 

Data Management and Reporting

  • Monitor client progress and input data accurately into Salesforce. 
  • Collect, analyze, and use data to assess program effectiveness and report outcomes. 

Partnership and Volunteer Coordination

  • Assist in management of grants and contracts with partners.  
  • Work collaboratively with internal Canal Alliance programs and external partners, including community colleges and industry partners. 
  • Coordinate volunteers with support from the Academic Success Supervisor and Workforce Development team. 
  • Participate in team and agency meetings. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor


Requirements


  • 2-4 years of case management experience and working with underserved populations. 
  • Associate/bachelor's degree or 2+ years of related work experience  
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (REQUIRED). 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite and Outlook. 
  • Experience working with Salesforce and/or other CRM systems (preferred). 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of adult education and workforce development systems. 
  • Ability to use cultural responsiveness with clients and staff. 
  • Ability to establish positive and cooperative relationships with students/clients, staff, and partners. 
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and use data at the client level. 
  • Ability to focus on results and inspire others to do the same. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Ability to function with supervision, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and manage stressful situations effectively. 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills. 

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits. We offer a competitive salary range of  $42-$44/hr based off 4DWW, with a benefits package that includes: 

  • 3 weeks paid vacation per year
