The pay range for this position is $42.01 to $43.67 per hour.
Role Description
The Flexsys America Sauget, IL plant has an immediate opening for an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Mechanic. This position is responsible for maintaining site electrical and instrumentation equipment following the site established maintenance processes. This position will work closely with Maintenance Department and primarily performs or assists others with planning, estimating, scheduling and coordination functions for routine maintenance work, special orders, other major maintenance jobs, and shutdowns. This position reports to the Maintenance Team Manager.
Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Devotion to high standards of performance to work in the Maintenance Department
- Possess the ability to work and contribute in a self-directed team in a high-performance environment
- Maintain and monitor process equipment following standard maintenance procedures
- Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation problems as necessary and assist other mechanics as needed
- Stay abreast of process changes and communicate status
- Perform minor analytical tests, monitor the results and take corrective actions if necessary
- Record mechanical data according to departmental requirements
- Support supervisors and engineers to troubleshoot problems and enhance production, quality and safety
- Stay up-to-date on computer software and equipment (Delta-V, SAP and Outlook)
Job Requirements include:
- Associates Degree in related field or Electrical and/or Instrumentation Diploma/Degree/or equivalent
- Ability to excel in a team environment while working with minimal supervision
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to read and interpret equipment drawings
- Must be a self-starter and able to manage multiple tasks at a time
- Strong planning, organization, facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical skills and a desire to provide “attention to detail”
Prefer candidates with:
- Knowledge of SAP
In addition to the above requirements, all candidates must meet the following:
- Verification of qualifications and abilities will be determined through an appropriate written assessment and hands-on skill testing
- Successful completion of a physical assessment
- Must be able to wear a respirator
- Must be able to repeatedly climb and descend stairs/ladders of up to eight stories
- Must be able to work rotating shifts that include weekends
- Must be knowledgeable of safety and environmental processes and procedures
