Hammer Made is looking for a full time Retail Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our upcoming new store (opening in February 2025) in the Pittsburgh Airport.
Job Summary: The Store Manager is responsible for all aspects of the store operation including staffing and creating and implementing sales driving strategies to meet monthly sales goals. Store Managers embody the Hammer Made brand, live out the mission and values, and coach and develop their team to produce results and give an exceptional sales floor experience.
Essential Job Duties
Leadership
- Create and ensure a cohesive work environment that inspires engagement
- Confidently train, coach and develop team members using Hammer Made training tools and resources
- Be able to adapt to a Hammer Made selling culture
- Manage and motivate staff to achieve maximum performance
- Effectively delegate tasks to team members
- Lead the store team to deliver exceptional customer service
- Network within your market and keep corporate partners in the loop of local trends
- Ability to take on more responsibilities from your market managers
- Ensure image and grooming standards are professional, reflective of the brand image and adhered to at all times
Achieve and maintain staffing level goals
- Attract, hire and retain a diverse team of top talent
- Schedule associates to maintain adequate floor coverage while maximizing traffic patterns and maintaining payroll budgets
- Ensure staffing levels reflect seasonal and traffic trends
Achieve Sales Results / Create Strategies to Drive Sales
- Responsible for store sales performance and metrics
- Demonstrate sales leadership for staff by playing an active role on the selling floor
- Evaluate and coach Associate performance regularly with measurables
- Analyze available sales reports and data with clear metrics to develop strategies/goals to evaluate team performance
- Achieve the monthly minimum personal sales goal
- Develop events/incentives that will grow customer base and build the Hammer Made brand
- Manage creation and implementation of clientele process
- Actively participates in monthly all-staff meetings
Maintain Store Operations Excellence
- Govern and manage the day to day operations of the store to ensure effective, proper and efficient process execution
- Control inventory levels and provide feedback to corporate partners of trends
- Empower Assistant Manager to manage visual operations and provide guidance
- Accurately track store budgets and manage ordering procedures
- Analyze sales and expense reports
- Manage transactions and cash for accuracy. Ensure deposits are processed in accordance with cash management expectations
- Delegate tasks to key employees
- Complete daily store log
- Uphold visual merchandising initiatives. Execute and ensure a top quality, appealing, merchandise assortment that promotes effective sales and store traffic.
- Maintain company brand standards of a neat, clean and organized sales floor, cash wrap and fitting room
- Collaborate effectively with other store locations and outside business partners
- Support, promote and assume responsibility for loss prevention in all areas of risk management

1. Proven experience as a retail manager.

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a business/sales related field or equivalent business experience
3-5 years of sales management- retail apparel industry preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Office Suite
Proven ability to recruit/retain staff and motivate the sales force to drive results by fostering teamwork, empowerment and collaboration.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has responsibility for all store staff including the Assistant Store Manager (ASM), and full and part-time sales associates.
Work Environment This job operates in a retail store environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Physical requirements include: standing and being mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time, walking, stooping, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work in the store alone.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position with hours scheduled at variable times and days each week to meet business needs. Must be flexible with scheduling and available to work retail hours, which will include day, evening, weekends and/or holidays.
