Die Cast Process Technician - Establish and maintain stable manufacturing processes that operate routinely within process limits established in SWP procedures, in PIM manuals, and on Set-up Sheets. Support production by trouble shooting “line down” situations, auditing set-ups and performing start-ups. Maintains and monitors Fanuc Robot operations.


What You'll Do:

  • Continuously monitor and control existing processes to assure compliance to process limits. Identify causes of unacceptable variation, down time and scrap, implement corrective actions, validate results and document clearly the root cause and corrective actions on the process compliance sheets.
  • PMs of Robots, Grippers, Die Sprayer, Sleeve Sprayer, Proportioners and Filters
  • Follow Reaction Plans for correcting processes and for trouble shooting poor performing cells.
  • Routinely work with Fanuc Robot Programs, modify to optimize existing processes.
  • Routinely verify lube concentrations and spray patterns.
  • Provide all required documentation for QS audits regarding Process Control.
  • Perform Process Compliance and audits with corrective and follow up actions completed as scheduled. Maintain Lube Levels and correct concentrations

Requirements

What We Need from You:

  • A complete and thorough understanding of the die casting process, including but not limited to gating, metal flow, metal handling, die cast tooling and die cast safety.
  • Able to program, operate, and trouble shoot: ladles, and Fanuc robots to optimize the process, beginning at the first piece sample.
  • Able to identify areas that need to be sprayed on a die, set spray heads accordingly, and modify a program to provide optimized die lubricant application.
  • Provide support for Maintenance, Engineering relating to new and existing programs.
  • Provide support for production to ensure optimized uptime and quality.
  • Have good oral and written communication skills, understand Excel.
  • Knowledge and support of all safety programs.


Additional Competencies

  • Knowledge of IATF-16949 system
  • Forklift truck certification
  • NADCA Safe Die Clamping certification / Troubleshooting
