PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION: The key role of an employee who works as a Produce Customer Service and Logistics Clerk is to provide Customer Service for Produce Customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Running the Loading Dock: Assigned Doors to the driver, Assigned Forklift operators for trucks loading and Support/assist Forklift operator on the truck loading process.
- Supervise / Lead the CBPAI/FDA Inspections.
- Upload EDI: Seaboard Manifest, Child Cargo, Prenote, etc.
- Create Work Orders for Seaboard, ICL and Crowley.
- Generate Labels and place them on pallets for traceability purposes.
- Process reefer drivers for refrigerated produce shipments from the shipping desk.
- Organize and manage multiple loading doors and ensure correct load to the correct driver.
- Coordinate appointments with drivers.
- Assist in answering and directing phone calls.
- Process non-Twic sales (cashier)
- Assist with data entry for invoicing.
- Obtain letters for guarantee and interact with local Customs Officers
- Update shipping line Re-USDA Inspection and Track Office Statistics.
- Respond to emails related to container availability or appointments.
- Provide support to the data processing and data uploading function.
- Train other clerks as need i.e.: Train the Trainer
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education and/or Experience - high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
- Experience in international logistics and/or marine terminals preferred not required
