The Program Manager is pivotal in leading the organization’s statewide arts education and partnership initiatives. This role encompasses the holistic management of diverse educational programs, including coordinating training sessions, orientations, and regular engagements with partner institutions to ensure program excellence and impact. Tasked with overseeing numerous evaluations across the state, the Program Manager ensures that the performance management of evaluators adheres to the organization's stringent standards.


As the primary liaison for participating institutions, the Program Manager employs exceptional relationship management skills to strengthen connections within educational and community arts partners. This role is also integral to managing key events and educational programs, contributing significantly to the sustainability and growth of arts education with an emphasis on DEIAB principles.


Responsibilities include managing registration processes, event planning, vendor coordination, budget administration, and developing strategic communication plans to advance the organization’s educational goals and ensure compliance with grant requirements. The Program Manager plays a crucial role in advancing the organization’s mission, enhancing the visibility and effectiveness of arts education, and fostering strong partnerships throughout Minnesota.


Program Management (50%)

  • Develop and implement annual trainings and orientations, in collaboration with the VP of Arts Education & Partnerships, to standardize and enhance program delivery across all initiatives
  • Conduct regular assessments of program implementation and effectiveness at participating entities, ensuring all educational initiatives meet their objectives
  • Oversee the execution and program engagement process across programs, including managing a team of artists throughout Minnesota to ensure consistent and effective program delivery
  • Review and manage the compilation of program deliverables of participating entities, ensuring alignment with overarching programmatic values and standards
  • Recruit and manage artists’ performance, playing a crucial role in optimizing the impact and efficiency of programming. 
  • Design and maintain communication strategies for all assigned art education programs, ensuring a cohesive and integrated participant experience across initiatives
  • Lead project management efforts for key educational initiatives, including resource development and strategic planning to enhance program reach and sustainability.
  • Analyze program impact and develop strategies for sustainable expansion, taking into account factors such as demographic trends, funding opportunities, and the organization’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging (DEIAB).

Relationship Management (30%)

  • Serve as the primary liaison for program stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and logistical support across various settings.
  • Enhance the program’s presence across communities by developing strong relationships with key partners, including administrators, directors, community members, and participants.
  • Lead a team of content specialists, maintaining open lines of communication to ensure the quality and alignment of content with program standards.
  • Assist in the development and management of a professional network of experts, thoughtfully selected to support and further the goals of mission-aligned programming.

Administrative (20%)

  • Oversee and manage the registration processes, data management, and preparation of materials for training and assessments across various programs.
  • Ensure the effective organization and execution of events related to programming, including visits, celebration preparations, and educational trips.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure timely provision of certificates, trophies, and other necessary program materials.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process, manage monthly forecasting for assigned programs, oversee program payables, and ensure efficient resource utilization to achieve program goals, including the approval of artist payments.
  • Facilitate clear, professional, and timely communication across all program engagements to support seamless operations.
  • Collect and organize event information, success stories, and relevant data to support program objectives and grant applications, collaborating closely with the Development Team to track sponsorship information and ensure compliance with grant requirements
Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and respond to the needs of the program and its participants effectively
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Arts Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is required
  • Strong background in managing budgets with a focus on efficient allocation and monitoring of financial resources
  • Familiarity with vendor management and nurturing community partnerships, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration with external partners.
  • Proven experience in curriculum design and educational program management, with the ability to develop and implement educational content that is engaging and relevant
  • Demonstrated ability to foster safe and inclusive environments that support the well-being and development 
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to connect and collaborate with diverse communities and stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving strategic objectives.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, including proficiency in public speaking and the ability to clearly convey complex information
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, detail-oriented, and consistently meet deadlines

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Arts Education, Nonprofit Management, or Public Administration is highly preferred, reflecting advanced understanding of program management in educational or arts-based settings
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, with the ability to strategize and execute outreach programs that enhance community involvement and support
  • Knowledge of arts education practices and current educational methodologies that can be applied to enhance program offerings
  • Experience with grant writing and fundraising, including tracking and reporting on grant compliance and outcomes to support program sustainability and expansion
  • Competence in compliance and regulatory matters affecting arts and educational programming
  • Minimum of four (4) years of proven experience in leading and overseeing multiple programs, including responsibilities in program management, development, and evaluation

Salary Description
$66,000 - $71,000
