Description

Job Summary: The Inventory Specialist is responsible for physical movement and electronic tracking of all purchased components throughout the facility; including internal and external processes. This individual is responsible for Bill of Materials (BOM) inventory accuracy. The Inventory Specialist will oversee daily cycle counts within the facility and report all KPI inventory numbers.


Responsibilities:

  • Review production orders for proper time keeping, material issue, and BOM accuracy.
  • Maintain acceptable inventory accuracy levels through cycle counting, administer proper tracking and FIFO systems.
  • Process miscellaneous material transactions including scrap, cycle counts, adjustments, etc.
  • Manage all material movement for goods leaving the facility for outside processing.
  • Review documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables, to determine personnel or materials requirements or material priorities.
  • Requisition and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.
  • Manage the creation of Work Orders for the production team.
  • Confer with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
  • Examine documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
Requirements

  

Education & Experience:

  • 5 + years’ experience in Manufacturing – Inventory Control.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Logistics.
  • High school diploma or GED required. 

Requirements:

  • Must have manufacturing experience in receiving and inventory control.
  • Must possess advanced computer skills and “system understanding”, experience with NetSuite highly preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate expectations and drive problem solving activities.
  • Self-motivated and driven to complete tasks on time. 
  • Ability to influence, build positive relationships and work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • 5’S condition of the facility including “Visual Workplace”.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks based on changing business needs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds is required. 
  • Regular use of a forklift is required.
  • Regular use of hand tools, box cutters and banding in shipping and receiving is required.
  • Regular transportation of parts out of house to “outside processing” or “purchase and alter” locations is required.
  • Employee regularly stands/walks for a number of hours per shift.
  • Employee is regularly required to speak and hear clearly, both in person and by telephone.
  • Regularly utilizes written and oral communication skills.
  • Requires ability to read and interpret information and documents.
  • Performs detailed work on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Primarily office and shop environment.
