 Social Service Agency is in need of an LMSW for their office. Temp to perm potential converting to $65,000-$68,000 based on experience

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  •  Provides Skill Building Services, including:
  • Establishing client treatment goals
  • Providing psychiatric supports
  • Individual counseling and treatment, substance abuse counseling and treatment, trauma-informed counseling and treatment, family and group counseling, transitional counseling
  • Psycho-education and wellness education
  • Communicating with family, case planning staff and medical practitioners
  • Enhancing compliance with behavioral health expectations
  • Utilizing interventions drawn from evidence-based psychotherapeutic models
  • Structuring interventions to decrease problem behavior and increase developmentally appropriate pro-social behavior
  •  Works collaboratively with State Plan Service providers, including Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services and Community Psychiatric Supports and Treatment, along with Article 29 Clinic Staff.
  •  Completes all training requirements, including Mandated Reporter training
  •  Conducts individual psychotherapy on a regular basis and family therapy
  •  Provides mental health referrals as needed
  •  Attends IEP meetings and/or school related conferences.
  •  Participates in weekly clinical team meetings to provide mental health updates as well as educational updates on children
  •  Works in collaboration with other departments, agencies, systems and institutions to maximize scarce resources, as well as attends quarterly client service plan review meetings.
  •  Regularly assesses the safety and well-being of all clients being served
  •  Ensures quality assurance and excellence in service provision
  •  Performs other duties as assigned
  •  On call 24 hours crisis intervention for child/adolescents and foster parents

Requirements

EDUCATION:

  •  Master’s Degree in social work
  •  LMSW

EXPERIENCE:

  •  Minimum of 2 years’ post-masters experience working with children, families and adolescent populations
  •  Knowledge of substance abuse prevention and treatment
  •  Knowledge of psychotropic medications and familiarity with medication risk and side effects
  •  Strong mental health background; proficiency in mental health diagnoses

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  •  Strong clinical skills and familiarity with CBT and TFCBT treatment
  •  Strong communication and presentation skills; able to facilitate trainings
  •  Strong interest in working with foster care youth and children and families at risk
  •  Able to work independently and as part of a team
  •  Able to establish a systematic course of action to accomplish specific objectives, determine priorities, and allocate time and resources effectively
  •  Able to develop and manage social work interns
  •  Able to effectively meet and communicate face-to-face with Program stakeholders
  •  Able to work collaboratively with people from all walks of life
  •  Able to manage time effectively and determine priorities
  •  Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications and Electronic Medical Records
  •  Detail oriented
  •  Bilingual preferred
