Position Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to provide clerical and administrative support to the Immigration Law Clinic (ILC), and the Arts & Entertainment Clinic (A&E), along with other duties as assigned. The ILC handles immigration matters pertaining to asylum and similar claims and assists with obtaining work permits. Position will manage CLIO for each assigned clinic, and assist with CLIO onboarding for other clinics, including establishing and managing student accounts, and generating clinic data when necessary.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Immigration Law Clinic – clerical and administrative support, including managing CLIO.
  • Arts & Entertainment clinic – clerical and administrative support with applications to clients.
  • Onboarding and support of other clinics as needed.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support for clinic leadership, such as Associate Dean of Experiential Education and Interim Assistant Dean of Experiential Education.
Requirements

  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education – A high school diploma or GED.
  • Employment – Two years to five years (Equivalent combination of education and employment).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Adaptability and team work a must.
  • Positive attitude.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent customer service skills. This position interacts regularly with students, faculty, clients, and potential clients who are seeking assistance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to answer and direct phone calls and to take and distribute accurate messages.
  • Ability to use government resources and websites in clinic support, such as https://www.uscis.gov/.
  • Ability to receive, sort and distribute incoming mail.
  • Ability to prepare and send outgoing mailings and packages.
  • Ability to photocopy, scan and fax documents as required.
  • Ability to type documents and correspondence as necessary.
  • Data entry into electronic case management system requiring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in use of email and internet.
  • Monitoring and ordering inventory of office supplies.
  • Knowledge of relevant software applications including MS Office.
  • General organization and time management skills necessary, including the ability to multi-task.
  • Report with building issues as needed.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience with CLIO case management system a plus.
  • Legal experience or education a plus.

Physical Requirements

Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).


Work Environment

Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.


Salary/Pay Information

Commensurate with experience


Anticipated Schedule  

Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
