We are seeking a knowledgeable Technical Writer who will be responsible for producing comprehensive and clear documentation to support the app’s new features, ensuring that all technical aspects, compliance requirements, and user-facing elements are well-documented. This includes writing user manuals, developer guides, and ensuring clarity on technical integrations like push notifications, telemedicine, and job application platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for the mobile app’s enhancements, including job application tools, digital ID storage, and telemedicine services.
- Work closely with developers and compliance officers to ensure that documentation adheres to legal and technical requirements.
- Write clear, user-focused guides for end-users (formerly incarcerated individuals) and technical guides for developers.
- Ensure all documentation is up to date with the latest app features and integrates well into a phased development approach.
Requirements
- Proven experience in writing technical documentation, including user manuals, developer guides, and API documentation.
- Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with mobile app development processes and the ability to document features related to iOS, Android, and cross-platform frameworks.
- Understanding of common mobile app features like push notifications, digital ID storage, and third-party integrations (e.g., telemedicine, job application platforms).
- Experience in writing documentation that adheres to legal and compliance standards, especially around data privacy (e.g., HIPAA).
- Ability to collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure technical and legal accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work closely with developers, product managers, UX/UI designers, and compliance officers to gather technical information.
- Experience in participating in agile teams or working in close coordination with developers during phased feature rollouts.
- End-users : Writing clear and simple guides for using app features like job applications, telemedicine, and digital ID storage.
- Developers: Writing technical documentation, integration guidelines, and system architecture descriptions.
- Proficiency in documentation and version control tools such as Confluence, Git, Markdown, or similar platforms to maintain documentation consistency.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) for updating online help systems and knowledge bases.
