As a Staff Auditor you are responsible for assisting in the planning, fieldwork and "wrap-up" to include the preparing of financial statements with disclosures, applying most areas of GAAP as necessary and documenting, validating, testing and assessing various control systems. This position will participate in contacting the client for basic questions and information and may be involved in reviews and agreed-upon procedure engagements.


Responsibilities

  • Participates in interviews with clients, analyzes audit evidence, and documents audit work performed and conclusions reached, discussing any audit issues with the engagement manager
  • Researches complex areas of accounting, forming an initial opinion on the correct treatment independently and considering and documenting the impact on the client and audit engagement
  • Assists in the preparation of drafting complex sets of financial statements with disclosures 
  • Keeps the engagement manager informed of the status for audits in progress
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s in accounting or equivalent, required
  • Master’s degree in accountancy, preferred
  • CPA license, preferred
  • 0-1+ years of hands-on audit experience (including time as an intern) with a large local, regional or national public accounting firm, preferred
  • Understanding the planning and coordinating stages of an audit for a private company
  • Takes initiative to expand general and industry specific business advisory skills and applies these to client situations
  • Ability to manage and consistently complete planned engagements or projects
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability of work of those supervised
  • Promotes cooperation within and across client service and engagement teams
  • Great project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Experience using CCH Engagement and Knowledge Coach research tools or equivalent, preferred
  • Microsoft Office Products, including Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
