POSITION SUMMARY:

Position Title: Senior Account Executive


Job Summary: 

As a DOD Senior Account Executive in the Sales Department, you will be a key contributor to driving revenue growth and expanding our presence within the government contracting sector. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing existing client relationships, and developing strategic sales plans to meet and exceed sales targets. This role requires a deep understanding of DOD government procurement processes, strong negotiation skills, and a proven track record in sales within the government contracting industry.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties:


Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities within the federal, state, and local government sectors. Engage in strategic prospecting, cold calling, networking, and market analysis to build a robust sales pipeline.


Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in government agencies. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, concerns, and service needs promptly.


Sales Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies that align with company goals. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and government procurement cycles to identify opportunities and risks.


Proposal Development: Lead the development of compelling proposals and presentations for government clients. Work closely with the proposal team to ensure compliance with RFP requirements and to position the company competitively.


Contract Negotiation: Manage the end-to-end sales cycle, including contract negotiation and closing deals. Ensure that contracts are negotiated in compliance with company policies, government regulations, and ethical standards.


Performance Monitoring: Track sales performance metrics, including revenue, pipeline growth, and conversion rates. Provide regular reports to the Federal Sales Manager and other senior management, highlighting progress, challenges, and opportunities.


Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, finance, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of contracts and client satisfaction. Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to enhance overall sales effectiveness.


Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with government contracting regulations, industry trends, and market dynamics. Share insights with the broader sales team to inform strategy and execution.

Requirements

  

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills:

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in the government contracting space.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage C-level executives.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficient in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, and results-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Desired Skills: 

  • Current Experience and relationships across the DOD Space.
  • Active Clearances preferred. 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 5 years or more of experience in sales or business development within the DOD government contracting industry preferred.
  • Veteran Preferred.
Salary Description
$150,000.00 per year OTE (Negotiable DOE)
