Job Summary:

As the Director of Information Technology at the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), you will be instrumental in delivering top-notch IT services, spearheading the successful deployment, maintenance, and advancement of our Microsoft Dynamics 365 Migration, Infrastructure, and Applications. This position demands an IT veteran with robust leadership capabilities, comprehensive expertise in CRM platforms, particularly MS Dynamics 365 & Business Central, and a proven track record of effective teamwork across diverse groups.

Your responsibilities will include guiding the IT department’s strategic planning, design, and management of operations, as well as steering and bolstering IT solutions that are vital to our core business functions. Collaborating with other department leaders, you will play a key role in pinpointing, advocating, crafting, executing, and maintaining cost-efficient tech solutions that serve the organization’s needs. You will also offer strategic and technical advice, and back the management of business applications, infrastructure, new projects, system setups, data migration, data storage, and analytics.

Moreover, as the Director of Information Technology, you will maintain a close relationship with IT service providers to guarantee the consistent performance of business applications. You are expected to demonstrate extensive technical acumen and diagnostic proficiency in a variety of IT domains.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the Information Technology support team 
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff. 
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.  
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees per company policy. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Work closely with decision-makers across departments to identify, recommend, and implement cost-effective technology solutions.
  • Provide strategic and technical guidance for business applications, infrastructure, and data management.
  • Translate complex IT concepts into understandable terms for various audiences.
  • Influence senior leadership to adopt innovative ideas and approaches.

Operational Management:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of NWTF’s IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and business continuity.
  • Spearhead disaster recovery strategies and acceptable recovery times for critical systems.
  • Foster strategic relationships with internal IT resources and external partners.

Leadership:

  • Lead a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and developers.
  • Supervise day-to-day activities to ensure effective support and development of CRM applications.
  • Collaborate with other IT groups for seamless integration and interoperability.

Quality Assurance:

  • Coordinate system and user testing for application solutions, including upgrades.
  • Proactively address issues and deficiencies in custom application configuration.
  • Maintain responsive processes for resolving user-reported issues.

Cloud and On-Premise Optimization:

  • Develop and oversee cloud and on-premise strategies.
  • Optimize infrastructure, security, and service delivery.

Data Security and Risk Management:

  • Ensure robust data security practices.
  • Implement risk management and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Align IT operations with business continuity procedures.
Requirements

  Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Extensive experience in managing sizable and intricate projects, along with proven leadership capabilities, is essential.
  • A solid background in fostering and maintaining vendor partnerships is necessary.
  • A track record of successfully leading and developing teams composed of both permanent employees and contractors is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Agile development practices is expected.
  • Prior experience in the IT management of nonprofit organizations is desirable.
  • Experience in Technical Architecture is crucial.

Education and Experience:

  • Four-year degree in a related field and/or 15 years’ experience managing medium to large IT projects targeting multiple user areas.
  • Strong understanding of CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 & Business Central).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Technical proficiency in infrastructure management, cloud solutions, and security.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. 

Remote or Telecomm Status:

  • Position can work remotely subject to in-office work as required.

Salary Description
$95,000.00 - $110,000.00 Annually
