General Job Summary
The Mortgage Recapture Operations Officer is responsible for designing, establishing, and implementing a new business channel dedicated to mortgage recapture. This role involves strategic planning, process development, and stakeholder coordination to create a successful framework for capturing existing mortgage customers. The focus is on building and optimizing the channel's infrastructure, rather than direct sales.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Develop a comprehensive strategy for the mortgage recapture business channel, including goals, key performance indicators, and operational plans.
- Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for recapture.
- Design and document workflows and processes for the mortgage recapture channel.
- Collaborate with IT and operations teams to implement necessary technology solutions and systems.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including marketing, customer service, and compliance teams, to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Develop relationships with external partners and vendors as needed for channel support.
- Oversee the execution of the recapture program, ensuring that all activities align with the strategic goals and meet performance targets.
- Monitor and evaluate channel performance, making recommendations for improvements and adjustments as needed.
- Create and maintain detailed reports on channel performance, including metrics such as recapture rates, customer engagement, and cost efficiency.
- Use data insights to drive continuous improvement and inform strategic decisions.
- Ensure that all channel activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
- Provide training and support to internal teams involved in the recapture process, ensuring they understand the channel's objectives and processes.
- Create and maintain documentation and resources to support channel operations.
Education, Training and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in consumer lending, with a proven track record of leadership and strategic success required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of lending products, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive business growth and manage P&L responsibilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and performance metrics.
- Experience with lending technology and digital transformation is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, time management & analytical skills.
- Able to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
- Proficient in MS Office products (particularly Excel & Word).
- Thorough understanding of financial statements.
- Able to prioritize, has a sense of urgency.
- High degree of accuracy.
- High degree of dependability.
- Ability to manage highly confidential information.
- Able to effectively problem solve.
- Excellent organizational, time management & analytical skills.
- Ability to present findings in financial analysis to committees. Ability to complete detailed reporting for committees and Boards from raw data.
Working Environment
Primary working environment is within an indoor climate-controlled office space and/or a private home office or some combination which will be at managements sole discretion. Employee may be subject to florescent lighting, dust, and other normal indoor allergens. Employee may work in close proximity of coworkers and occasionally independently in quiet environments.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Extended periods of sitting (at computer desk).
- Complete repetitive tasks (including operation of computer mouse/keyboard).

** The salary range for this role takes into consideration a wide range of factors including but not limited to the duties of the role, experience, location, and certificates and/or education. The target annual salary for this position is between $125,000 and $175,000 per year. We also offer a comprehensive benefit plan including a generous PTO structure, 401K with an employer match as well as cash bonus and employee stock option plans. **
