Location: Remote capable, with preference given to candidates whose working hours overlap at least 50% with the US Eastern time zone 

FTE Status: 1FTE, Exempt

Salary Range for US-Based Candidates: $84,300 - $111,400

Salary Range for Candidates Outside of the US: will vary depending on the candidate's country of residence

Position Description

This position will be responsible for strategy development and execution of the human resources function across multiple countries and regions on a global scale. The primary focus will be on executing the global HR strategy, driving HR initiatives, and ensuring alignment with business goals. This role requires strong cross-cultural competence and interpersonal skills, extensive working knowledge of global HR practices, and the ability to navigate complex international HR landscapes.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

Collaborative Leadership

  • Collaborates with the leaders in the global space to align initiatives to be inclusive for all team members.
  • Collaborates with US based staff to align US and global operations within People & Culture.  

Compliance & Confidentiality

  • Oversight to ensure that we are in overall compliance with regulations, local, and country-specific laws and policies, and that our Policy Manual is up to date with appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Investigates and documents all employee grievances.

Culture & Engagement 

  • Champions and brings to life Health Care Without Harm’s values, mission and vision and develops other culture champions.
  • Co-collaborates on the creation and execution of organizational culture events, gatherings and team building activities via facilitation and support of an internal cross-functional engagement team.
  • Be a partner with DEIB in supporting the execution of efforts to increase diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging awareness and action.

Employment Life Cycle

  • Ensures inclusive recruiting practices are followed and promote end-to-end positive employee experience.
  • Collaborates with the Communications team to successfully promote a strong employer brand so that candidates recognize Health Care Without Harm as an excellent place to work.
  • Oversight of the onboarding processes of new staff outside of the US. 

Wellness, Benefits, & Compensation

  • In collaboration with the Chief People Officer, conducts periodic pay surveys in each country where HCWH employs staff; scheduling and conducting job evaluations.
  • Manages and oversees compensation and benefit programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance within each country where HCWH employs staff. 

Growth & Development

  • Co-creates a culture of growth, learning, and development that employees want to invest their careers in.
  • Creates or collaborates with a consultant to implement staff development and training programs.
  • Ensures that the line managers/supervisors adhere to processes and policies related to performance management and that the tools we use can make a meaningful impact on our employees’ growth.
  • Works with line managers/supervisors regarding performance issues and performance improvement plans. 
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.

HR Administration

  • Co-collaborates with organizational leadership to conduct work planning and budget planning to be strategic about the building of a budget to support the organizational and team goals.
  • Ensures maintenance of historical human resource records; keeping past and current records per document retention policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: BA or BS in Human Resources, Business Management, or other related field. Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.
  • Minimum Experience: 5 years of progressive experience in global Human Resources position.
  • Minimum Field of Expertise: Global HR generalist experience providing thorough knowledge of global employment laws, and other HR generalist topics.
  • Preferred Education: BA or BS in Human Resources or related field.
  • Preferred Certifications: PHR, SPHR, GPHR, SHRM-CP.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience working in diverse cultural environments, managing cross-cultural functions, and fostering global collaboration. Ability to navigate complex international HR landscapes and manage HR-related risks.
  • Preferred Field of Expertise: Global HR generalist experience providing thorough knowledge of employment laws, and other HR generalist topics in the non-profit sector and in a virtual organization. Prior work experience in remote team collaboration, and ability to thrive in a virtual environment while effectively coordinating with team members and stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds and international locations.

  • Staffing – Knowledge of HR concepts, principles, and practices related to identifying, attracting, and selecting individuals and placing them into positions to address changing organizational needs.
  • Performance Management – Knowledge of performance management concepts, principles, and practices related to planning, monitoring, rating, and rewarding employee performance.
  • Employee Relations – Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, case law, principles, and practices related to employee conduct, performance and dispute resolution.
  • Strategic planning - Ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Computational Abilities - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, percentages, etc.
  • Computer Skills - Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Emotional Intelligence – lead with kindness and empathy
  • Organizational Change – Knowledge of organizational change principles.
