The Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence executes the vision to develop and improve teaching effectiveness and to deliver high quality learning experiences. The director supports the development and maintaining of the professional credentials through the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) to deliver approved continuing education for nurses. This role reports directly to the Dean of Curriculum and Instruction and leads the Faculty Training and Development Specialists and Faculty Success Coaches. The Director will guide the growth of the team and faculty with purposeful and effective approaches to provide extraordinary teaching practices. The Director is responsible for collecting and analyzing data related to the effectiveness of the programs and opportunities provided by the CTE. The director will also collaborate with leadership to define and evaluate teaching excellence, service opportunities, and scholarship for faculty while providing continuous quality improvement in teaching.

WHAT YOU DO EVERYDAY:
- Develop and implement comprehensive educational support programs, learning resources, and holistic faculty support for the University.
- Collaborate with the academic leaders and key stakeholders to identify and develop key initiatives and seamless faculty support to promote inclusive teaching and learning outcomes that contribute to faculty and student success.
- Lead program planning and review, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and a commitment to excellence.
- Drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning through rigorous evaluation, data-driven analysis, and the implementation of best practices.
- Support the budgeting and financial management of the Center for Teaching Excellence, ensuring efficient resource allocation and fiscal responsibility.
- Support the Lead Nurse Planner and ensure that programs comply with relevant criteria, such as those set by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC).
- Evaluate CTE training and development and provide recommendations for curricular enhancement and revision based on professional guidelines, standards, and best practices in teaching and learning.
- Develops faculty mentoring programs for teaching excellence, scholarship, and professional development congruent with the university’s mission, vision, values and goals.
- Engages in the scholarship.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- PhD or EdD in nursing (or related field) from a regionally accredited institution is required.
- 10+ years of experience in higher education, with 3+ years of significant experience in academic leadership is required.
- Demonstrated excellence in instructional practice at the higher education level.
- Previous scholarship commensurate with Assistant Professor Rank or above is required.
- Demonstrated commitment to equitable and inclusive practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate the details of multiple concurrent projects.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision and direction.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build relationships.
- Proven effective and consistent interpersonal, organizational, conflict resolution, management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Current unencumbered registered nurse license is required.
- Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) certification is preferred.
- Nurse Professional Development (NPD-BC) certification is preferred.
