Description

Sanitation Technician 1 Summary: 

Under direct supervision, cleans and sanitizes any and all equipment in a food manufacturing facility. 


Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person.
  • Set up, operation and cleaning/sanitizing of various pneumatic, mechanical and electrical processing equipment in cross-functional areas of the plant.
  • Respond to any unclean conditions as they may arise
  • Trained and certified to use cleaning chemicals according to guidelines and in a safe manner.
  • Maintains facility per Master Sanitation Schedule
  • Maintains work area throughout shift 
  • May operate scissor lift to clean hard to reach areas
  • May instruct and oversee the activities of new employees of the Sanitation Department
  • Supports food safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Support and comply with cGMP’s
  • All other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Able to read, write and do basic math.
  • Able to work independently and as a team
  • Able to follow specific written procedures and forms
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand, kneel, crawl, bend, reach, twist, push, pull to clean equipment for at least an 8 Hour shift
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communication skills 

Working Conditions:

  • Conditions may include but not limited to Wet, hot or cold environments
  • Environment may include but not limited to being dirty, dusty, wet, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises
