We are looking for a Business Rules Engine (BRE) Developer to join RSI! 


Leveraging your experience with requirements definition and analysis, you will be responsible for applying your object-oriented programming knowledge and complete the full life-cycle of business rules development including rules definition and extraction, translation, code development, loading, testing, implementation, and ongoing change management. Leveraging your debugging and log reading skills you will help troubleshoot issues. You will be part of a core group of technical analysts directly interacting with clients and must be able to listen attentively and translate requirements into concrete rules. Experience with FICO Blaze is a requirement for this role.


This position is remote based. Internally this role is titled Technical Analyst, Professional


Job Responsibilities/Duties:  

  • Develops server applications using programming languages like Python, PHP, .NET, C++, C, VB, Delphi, etc. Apart from programming language skills, back-end development is required to achieve product functionalities and meet business needs. 
  • Identifying and analyzing business needs, conducting requirements gathering, and defining scope and objectives from a technical perspective 
  • Making recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology  
  • Researching business requirements and documenting the relationships between the components of the application system (i.e., end users, business processes, data, applications, and devices)  
  • Translating business requirements into technical artifacts 
Requirements


  • Strong understanding and proven application of standard development techniques (OOP, SDLC, Agile)
  • 7+ years in Object Oriented programming (i.e. C#.Net or Java) 
  • 7+ years of SQL experience, specifically with stored procedures  
  • 5+ years of business rules engine experience, specifically with FICO
  • Ability to read system logs 
  • Curiosity and perseverance for debugging 
  • Ability to translate client requirements into business solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer-focused attitude and desire to interface directly with end-user clients
  • Professional demeanor
  • BS in Business, MIS, Computer Science, or related work experience
  • Immediate authorization to work in the US

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: 

  • Familiarity with TFS or Azure DevOps
  • Experience with large-scale public sector IT projects, especially for Revenue or Finance agencies

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

RSI determines pay range based upon numerous compensation factors, including experience, skill set, and geographic location. A current and reasonable estimated range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000. However, it’s possible for an individual to be hired at a salary outside of this range.
