The Gist

We are seeking a highly experienced Artificial Intelligence Executive with a strong background in AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI, particularly within the federal government space. This individual will have experience in AI-related roles, along with a deep understanding of the unique federal business requirements for AI implementation. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking leader, familiar with current and emerging technologies in generative AI, including Large Language Models (LLMs), and capable of driving AI adoption in line with government policies and regulations.


What Your Day Might Include...

  

  • Lead the strategic development and implementation of AI initiatives within the organization, ensuring alignment with federal business objectives and compliance with government regulations.
  • Oversee the integration of Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI solutions, including Large Language Models, to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making processes.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging AI technologies relevant to the federal government, recommending solutions that address critical needs and align with agency goals.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to develop AI strategies that meet the unique challenges and opportunities within the federal sector.
  • Ensure AI initiatives comply with federal security, privacy, and ethical standards, including relevant policies such as the Federal Data Strategy and AI in Government Act.
  • Provide thought leadership on AI trends and developments, advising on best practices for AI governance, implementation, and scaling.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key government stakeholders, ensuring open communication and alignment on AI-related initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver presentations, reports, and briefings to high-level government officials and decision-makers.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with AI deployment, including algorithmic bias, data privacy concerns, and cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
  • Establish frameworks for continuous monitoring and evaluation of AI system performance and ethical alignment.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive AI, ML, and GenAI strategies tailored to the specific needs of federal government clients.
  • Identify opportunities for AI/ML applications to enhance mission outcomes, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate and oversee the integration of modern AI/ML technologies, including natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, deep learning, and predictive analytics, into government programs.
  • Keep the organization at the forefront of AI developments, including advancements in large language models (LLMs), generative models (GPT, etc.), and AI-driven automation.
  • Stay current with AI/ML innovations, emerging technologies, and industry best practices, ensuring our AI capabilities remain competitive.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, exploring the use of GenAI and AI-driven automation to improve federal operations.
  • Establish frameworks for continuous monitoring and evaluation of AI system performance and ethical alignment.
Requirements

You'll Bring These Qualifications

  • US Citizenship Required to support government contracting company
  • Bachelor Degree +10 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to travel to Reston, VA a min of 2x per week
  • Previous experience as a federal government employee, with knowledge of federal business requirements and regulatory frameworks for AI.
  • Strong understanding of current and emerging AI technologies, particularly in the field of generative AI modules.
  • Familiarity with federal regulations around AI implementation, including data privacy, security, and ethical considerations.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage AI projects from concept to execution.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to senior government officials.
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.                       

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with cloud-based AI solutions and integration of AI into federal IT infrastructures.
  • Knowledge of AI governance, ethical AI, and responsible AI practices.
