This position will be responsible for the planning, development, facilitation, implementation, administration, and evaluation of IT certification program offerings.


IT Certification Program Development: 

  • Responsible for all facets of IT certification program development (i.e. bootcamps) from conception to evaluation
  • Collaborate with the Dean and Associate Dean of Education to create and implement an efficient course development process for new IT certification programs which includes recommendations for on-going and proposed programs.
  • Works collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s), Compliance, Marketing, Admissions and management to advise and ensure curriculum development aligns with the strategic needs of the school 
  • Conducts research for the design and development of IT certification program offerings, including feasibility, quality, and labor market research, collaborating with management and SME’s
  • Support school initiatives related to IT certification program development and program alignment with student success initiatives

Curriculum Administration:

  • Lead the document creation and coordination for program development 
  • Work with SME’s to identify course content and materials in accordance with program/bootcamp objectives
  • Stay current with industry certification changes and updates (e.g., CompTIA, AWS, Cisco, etc.)
  • Proactively identify and solve any curriculum administration issues or concerns
  • Oversee the development, revision, and maintenance of bootcamps documents 
  • Review training material/deliverables and provide recommendations on the accuracy of and relevancy of content of curriculum and performance support tools (i.e., Canvas, design plans, and other related material)

Administrative Tasks:

  • Responsible for tracking the take and pass rates of IT certifications
  • Responsible for analyzing and developing new metrics for IT certifications, as needed
  • Manage the certification resource shells in Canvas

Adhering to College Policies and Procedures:

  • Provide regular updates to the Dean and Associate Dean of Education on the progress of curriculum planning, development, and tasks
  • Promote collaboration with other staff members and lead the implementation of new projects, ideas, etc.
  • Adhere to the CIAT business casual attire. Please refer to the CIAT Employee Handbook for the complete policy. Clothing should be neat, clean, and without rips and holes. We are able to accommodate CIAT polo t-shirts and pressed jeans. T-shirts, caps, hooded sweaters, and shorts are not permitted
Requirements
  • Project Management experience required
  • Curriculum development planning experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • Information Technology Instructors must provide official transcripts of bachelor's (or higher) degree and active/current certification on the subject being taught
  • Experience in developing curriculum in IT is preferred
  • At least one certification in the following is preferred:    
    • CompTIA ITF+/Tech+
    • CompTIA  A+
    • CompTIA Network+
    • CompTIA Security+ 
    • AWS Cloud Practitioner 
    • Cisco CCNA
  • At least three years’ experience in the IT field OR two years of experience teaching IT classes is preferred
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems such as Canvas is preferred
  • Experience in a technical training/ instructional design environment is preferred
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the proven ability to prioritize
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey information and interact with students, colleagues, and others
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic; dedicated to quality, quantity, and timeliness of results
  • Demonstrated ability anticipate needs and exercise independent judgment
  • Excellent analytical skills, problem resolution skills and general business acumen
  • Proficient skills in MS Office software products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project and ability to learn additional software products 
  • Exhibits a high degree of flexibility in adapting to a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, academic departments, and administration to support student success, achieve institutional goals and contribute to a positive and inclusive culture
  • Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours to accommodate business needs and deadlines
  • Flexible to work longer hours to meet deadlines, if needed
  • Able to work a 40-hour plus workweek, if needed depending on schedule and coverage
  • Able to handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality
  • Possess high ethical standards, being an example of professionalism to others
  • Must be able to embody CIAT’s mission, vision and values

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are usually Monday through Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm but weekend and evening hours may be required.


Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Sedentary work. Essential functions of this role require sitting for extended periods of time
  • Ability to type, use a computer to search for information and input information while speaking on the phone is required 
  • The employee will frequently be required to use the computer, mouse and telephone to conduct the regular tasks of this role
  • The employee will be required to compute simple to simple mathematical calculations as a normal part of this role

Work Environment

While performing the responsibilities of this remote position, the job holder will work in a home office environment.
