Description

We are seeking a Part-Time Dentist to work at a county jail(s) in the Johnson County Area.


Correctional dentistry is a unique, challenging, and exciting opportunity for dentists because it allows you to provide patient care without the interference and barriers associated within a private practice. This is the perfect opportunity to provide dentistry in a public health setting, while improving health outcomes.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform dental services within designated hours of operations.
  • Utilize universal precautions for patient dental care.
  • Exam, diagnose and treat patients consistent with professional standards and defined scope of service.
  • Document patients’ needs for every dental encounter utilizing the SOAP format, update the patient health history, and obtain patient consent prior to delivering of care.
  • Keep patient information confidential and respect patients' rights to privacy, in accordance with accepted confidentiality practices for incarcerated individuals.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of Dentistry Medicine (DDS/DMD)
  • Experienced clinician preferred
  • Recent graduates encouraged to apply
  • One (1) year of experience in oral surgery preferred
  • Active and unrestricted State Dental License
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
