Job Summary: The Application Engineer manages custom engineered projects for Stirling generators and pneumatic systems. Coordinates between sales, engineering and production to deliver new applications that meet customer expectations.


Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the concept designs and project reviews related to the new applications you manage.
  • Offer engineering design insight into development objectives and limitations.
  • Interface with customers to get additional feedback to ensure that the development path remains focused on the needs of the solution. 
  • Work directly with the sales team and customers to understand their specific needs and review the planned uses for Qnergy products within customer infrastructure. 
  • Responsible for validating that the Qnergy product will fill the needs of the customer at every site. 
  • Work with engineering team to create “customer facing” content; including product manuals, specifications, marketing literature, etc.
  • Contribute to the design and manufacturing aspects of Qnergy products and processes by participating in design, scheduling, and testing. 
  • Use computer-assisted-design (CAD) software to create preliminary drawings of the product (preference for SolidWorks). 
  • Produce specifications and budgetary quotations. 
  • Write test plans, test reports, business correspondence, troubleshooting procedures. 
  • Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and contract manufacturers. 
Requirements

  

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering required (preference for Mechanical, or proven experience with below listed skillsets).

Three to five years of relevant experience preferred.


Skills & Abilities:

Experience in energy, power generation, instrument air, electrical motor operation, VFD’s, automation, PLC’s.

Comfortable working on/around electrical components both high and low voltage systems. 

Experience in designing power systems or engineered packages preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills especially as they relate to interfacing with customers and understanding customers technical needs.

Excellent document creation skills, including engineering development schedules and technical operating documents. 

Knowledge of and hands-on experience implementing safe practices. 

Ability to read and understand technical drawings, datasheets, plus verbal and written work instructions. 

Highly motivated self-starter capable of working independently and in group settings. 

Must be organized and able to multi-task. 


Work Environment:

Will be required to work in-person at the corporate facility in Ogden, UT. Limited remote work potential, based on company needs.

Willingness to occasionally travel nationally and internationally, up to roughly 10% of the time.

Some lifting up to 20 pounds may be required. 

Primarily engineering, laboratory, and shop environment. 

Must be willing and able to work at the jobsite. 

May require work in areas where noise and temperature levels are elevated.
