Description

As the Sales Market Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving new clients to the organization and growing our presence with prospects in Education vertical space, primarily larger private schools with dormitories that consume larger amounts of energy. You will promote Environ’s suite of offerings to prospects and cross sell to existing clients, fostering stronger relationships, and delivering significant sales and business growth. Your objective will be to identify and cultivate relationships with potential clients, effectively communicate the benefits of Environ’s solutions, and drive the sales process from initial contact to closing deals. Through your expertise and passion for environmental sustainability, you will help schools and public organizations transition to cleaner, more sustainable energy futures.

Requirements

Education and Experience requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, marketing, environmental science, or related field; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Proven track record of success in sales or business development roles, preferably within the energy, clean energy, renewable energy, or sustainability industry.
  • Strong understanding of clean energy technologies, energy efficiency principles, and environmental sustainability concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence diverse audiences, including clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office suite, and other sales productivity tools.
  • Commitment to environmental stewardship and passion for driving positive change through our energy solutions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Business Development:

  • Identify and prospect potential clients within the Education vertical market, including large public-school systems, universities, private boarding schools etc...
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and revenue goals, leveraging market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Build and maintain a sales pipeline through marketing qualified leads (MQLs), sales qualified leads (SQLs), networking, referrals, association events and other proactive outreach efforts.

Solution Selling:

  • Conduct comprehensive needs assessments with prospective clients to understand their energy consumption, sustainability goals, budget constraints, and financial objectives.
  • Educate clients on the benefits of Environ’s solutions, such as community solar programs, energy-efficiency initiatives, engineering projects, carbon tracking, sustainability training, and energy procurement strategies, emphasizing the environmental benefits and long-term value.
  • Customize proposals and presentations to align with clients' specific requirements, addressing concerns and objections while highlighting the advantages of clean energy solutions.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with clients, fostering trust through transparent communication, timely follow-ups, and exceptional customer service.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering continuous support and guidance throughout the sales process, from initial inquiry to project implementation.
  • Be the voice of the client or prospect. Collaborate with internal teams, including subject matter experts, engineers, sales support, operations, and customer service representatives, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of clean energy projects.

Market Insights and Feedback:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies in the clean energy space, especially in education and public sectors, sharing relevant insights with internal teams.
  • Ensure all sales activities are documented in the CRM and provide regular reports on market dynamics to sales management, contributing to data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

The good faith salary hiring range for this position is $70,000-$100,000 base per year plus commissions. Please note hiring ranges for candidates may differ based on education and experience.
