Description

Job Summary: The Biogas Product Development Engineer will support existing and novel designs and technology development to continue introducing new solutions, that employ our technology, within biogas product lines to better meet the needs of our customer’s applications.   


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing design and engineering support for the Biogas product development team. 
  • Contribute to the direction and methods used as the subject matter expert. 
  • Contribute and perform pre-design planning and the presentation of ideas. 
  • Perform the design, including CAD and engineering analysis where needed. 
  • Work in the lab and in the field assembling, testing, modifying, and teaching others how the product works. 
  • Validate and test new customer use-cases, by performing engineering testing of potential applications and solutions. 
  • Create detailed product definition documents.
  • Prepare and conduct design review meetings. 
  • Work with the product engineering team to create customer facing content, including product manuals, specifications, marketing literature. 
  • Contribute to the design and manufacturing aspects of Qnergy products and processes. 
Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, etc.); advanced degree preferred. 
  • Work experience in new product development, or innovation in the bioenergy space preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience in a “Creative Design” engineering process relevant to new product development. 
  • Proficiency in designing with 3D CAD and modeling software (ideally SolidWorks).
  • Fundamental knowledge and experience designing or working with thermodynamic power generation cycles. 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Fundamental proficiency in Python preferred. 
  • Strong passion for clean energy implementation and new product development. 
  • Experience in the field of biogas energy systems. 
  • Experience interfacing with a market and/or customer to create a technical solution to meet actual needs. 
  • Ability to understand and participate in all aspects of design. 
  • Ability to understand and define the driving problem that the product will solve, including customer interface and site visits. 
  • Must have excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Must have a professional presence, both online and in person.
  • Ability to build trust and nurture relationships.
  • A skilled listener and communicator, able to translate “casual customer conversation” into detailed technical engineering directives. 
  • Ability to work independently without supervision in complex environments. 
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally, up to 15% of the time. 

Work Environment:

  • Work/visit remote locations.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and work outdoors.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance. 
  • Able to multi-task in a changing environment.
