CHILDREN’S MINISTRY WEEKEND COORDINATOR (SARATOGA)

  • REPORTS TO: CHILDREN’S MINISTRY DIRECTOR
  • RELATES CLOSELY WITH: CHILDREN’S MINISTRY TEAM, CHILDREN’S SERVE TEAM, SARATOGA STAFF
  • CLASSIFICATION:PART-TIME (up to 6 HOURS)
  • PAY RATE: $23 per hour

WestGate Church, a non-denominational, multi-congregational church situated in one of the most diverse and influential regions of the world—the Silicon Valley—is seeking an energetic, skilled Children’s Ministry Weekend Coordinator to support the Saratoga Congregation Children’s Director. This part-time role will require occasional work on Fridays and Saturdays as well as evening hours, providing exceptional ministry-related administrative assistance to the children’s staff and church body.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 year minimum of administrative experience.  
  • Positive, professional, self-starter with the ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities and projects with minimal direction. 
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality, handling situations with discretion, diplomacy, and tact. 
  • Exhibits personal and professional discernment and discretion. 
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent time management and attention to detail. 
  • Highly organized with the capability to execute logistics for large-scale projects overseen by the Children’s Ministry Pastor.  
  • Superior communication skills: written and verbal.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate with Serve Team members scheduled for the upcoming weekend, noting any that need to adjust their schedules and find a substitute.
  • Participate in any training, recruiting, or appreciation events for our volunteer teams.
  • Check in with Serve Team members in order to let them know that they are cared for. Pray for them and follow up with them about their lives. 
  • Open classroom each weekend. Ensure that everything the leaders need is in place and all pieces of equipment are turned on.
  • Greet people in KidzTown and help them feel welcome and cared for.
  • Ensure that every classroom is staffed with 2 adults as kids are arriving and continue to watch ratios of children to adults.
  • Be attentive to leaders ensuring they have all they need to teach and lead the kids through the provided activities.
  • Be attentive to classes to ensure that safety protocols and processes are being followed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary Description
