We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Key Account Manager (KAM) to join our Sales team. Your primary focus will be developing and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers at the top US and Latin America Poultry producers (broilers) companies. To be successful in the role, the KAM must have strong poultry industry experience and understand the business needs of our customers, hatchery process and workflow, and clearly communicate how TARGAN’s AI-powered capital equipment and technologies will help our customers to achieve their performance targets. This role will work closely with our Engineering, Bio-Process, and Field Operations teams to assure the highest level of customer service to our business partners. This role is remotely based, with Company headquarters located in Raleigh, North Carolina. 

 

  • Research, analyze, and understand the organizational structure, business goals, and processes of integrated broiler producers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders from C-suite to hatchery and processing plant management within broiler companies.
  • Present and demonstrate our equipment to key clients, showcasing the benefits and value proposition of TARGAN poultry systems.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling service proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals, ensuring profitable outcomes for both the TARGAN and the client.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering and implementation teams to ensure successful installation, integration, and commissioning of our equipment at client hatcheries.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to key accounts, addressing any concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and update comprehensive territory business plans.
  • Represent company at industry tradeshows and meetings.
  • Monitor and analyze key account performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Track all sales activities in company CRM system.
  • Consistently meet and/or exceed sales targets.
  • Document customer feedback and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements to identify new business opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements

  

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Food Science, Poultry Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience in poultry processing or yield management is acceptable.  

Experience and Certifications

  • Proven track record in key account management and business development within the poultry industry or related sectors. 
  • At least 5 years of experience in a fast-paced corporate or similar environment.
  • Experience in process optimization, and yield management expertise in poultry processing plant strongly preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes

  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong sales and business acumen with a consultative and solution-oriented approach.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish. Fluency is Portuguese is strongly preferred. 
  • Exceptional negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data to drive improvements.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to frequently travel to customer sites and industry events as required (travel up to 80% with overnight stays)
  • Possess the ability to function under pressure in what is often a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of proficiency and confidentiality.
  • Valid US state-issued Driver’s License.
  • Valid US Passport (or similar) and ability to travel internationally.
