MEDICAL ASSISTANT APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

Join our team and become a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) while working full-time in Midwest's Apprenticeship Program! Midwest provides full tuition reimbursement and assistance to prospective team members in exchange for a two-year service commitment following program completion. This program is perfect for candidates new to the health care environment and are looking for a long-term career formulating relationships with providers and patients, and having a great impact to the patient's quality of life.
During program completion (~4 months), team members are introduced to our clinical environment by functioning as a Clinic Office Assistant. In this capacity, we teach team members about clinic flow, provider preferences, clinic site nuances, and sterilization processes.
Upon graduation and successful certification as a Medical Assistant, team members transition to support the physician and their care teams by:
- Completing patient intake, gathering and documenting chief complaints, HPIs and vitals in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Presenting patients to the clinician.
- Collecting updated patient information and charting patient exams in the EMR within the time parameters of the patient appointment.
- Handling patient private health information within the guidelines of HIPAA and company privacy practices.
- Administering medications and treatments as directed.
- Assisting healthcare professionals in performing exams, diagnostic procedures, treatments, and minor medical procedures.
- Providing patient education materials and communicate physician advice/instructions.
- Maintaining the laboratory area and equipment logs daily.
- Other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Willingness and ability to work and travel between all four clinic locations in Vadnais Heights, Woodbury, and Eagan, MN and Hudson, WI.
- BLS or CPR certified or willingness to become certified.
- Valid Driver’s License
- A resident of Minnesota/Western Wisconsin or in the process of relocating to Minnesota.
