Description

This position is based in our Alexandria, MN office, and preferred candidates should be willing to work on-site to foster teamwork, expertise, and collaboration.  


The GIS Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing GIS solutions using ArcGIS online along with providing geospatial analysis/mapping, and supporting various projects across our organization.  This role requires strong technical skills, creativity, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.  If you have expertise in ArcGIS Online development, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!


Your focus will be: 

• ArcGIS Online Development:  design, develop, and maintain web mapping applications and tools using ArcGIS Online, ensuring high performance and user-friendly interfaces for a wide variety of clientele.

• Cartography:  create project-specific maps that effectively communicate data and insights derived from GIS analysis.

• Data Management:  collect, organize, and maintain geospatial data, ensuring accuracy and consistency across various platforms.

• Spatial Analysis:  conduct spatial analysis and generate insights that support decision-making and strategic planning for various projects.   

• Collaboration:  work closely with cross-functional teams, including planners, engineers, and project managers to identify GIS needs and develop tailored solutions. Also provide training and technical support to staff and stakeholders on GIS tools and applications.   

• Documentation:  create and maintain documentation for GIS processes, applications, and data management protocols.  Keep informed of industry trends and best practices in GIS technology and web-based mapping solutions.  


Requirements we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or related field.

• Proven experience with ArcGIS online, including application development and data visualization.

• Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and other Esri software/extensions.

• Experience with data interoperability between CADD/Revit and GIS

• Knowledge of BIM solutions and data management

• Knowledge of remote sensing and imagery analysis.

• Proficiency in GIS programming languages (e.g., Arcade, Python, JavaScript) and tools (e.g., ArcGIS Experience Builder).

• Experience with data management and geodatabase design.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
