Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
River Region Psychiatry Associates – Full-Time or Part-Time
River Region Psychiatry Associates is seeking a dedicated PA or PMHNP to join our dynamic team. This role offers flexibility with both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities and could be structured as part-time for those focusing solely on inpatient care.
*All final candidates will be background and drug screened.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, with 1 weekend of on-call duties per month
- Setting: Inpatient 12 bed Geriatric and Adult unit + Outpatient (hybrid remote/onsite for outpatient care in AL)
- Inpatient Facility: Creekside Hospital, Bridgeport, AL
- Part-Time Option: Available for those interested in inpatient care only (PA part time only unless you have a CAQ in psych)
Requirements:
- Active PMHNP certification
- Valid Alabama state license (or eligibility)
- DEA certification (highly desirable)
- Strong interpersonal and clinical skills

Requirements
- POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess a minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing.
- Those six years are composed of a 4-year undergraduate nursing program followed by a 2-year nurse practitioner master's program that includes psychiatric nursing.
- Must have or pursuing a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Prior experience in providing mental health counseling services within a clinical setting
- Must possess a State License to practice Nursing and it must be in good standing.
- Must possess the knowledge base in health promotion maintenance, advanced pathophysiology, advanced health assessment and pharmacology for advanced practice nurses.
- Must possess the following concepts: individual and family psychotherapy, psychiatric-mental health nursing across the lifespan, advanced assessment in psychiatric-mental health nursing and psychopharmacology.
