Purpose
The Principal Cloud Platform Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the architecture, development, and maintenance of CENTEGIX’s multi-cloud infrastructure. As the secondary/alternate to the team lead, this role is vital for ensuring platform stability, scalability, and security, allowing the company to meet its goals in rapid response and reliable service. The role is designed to take ownership of Infrastructure and DevEx aspects, drive improvements, and contribute significantly to architecture decisions.
Position Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Ownership: Take ownership of the multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP) and Kubernetes clusters, ensuring stability, security, and scalability to meet CENTEGIX’s evolving needs.
- DevEx Enhancements: Drive the team’s Developer Experience (DevEx) improvements, simplifying processes, tools, and pipelines to enhance productivity and system reliability.
- Architectural Contributions: Collaborate with the Principal Platform Engineer and other senior team members to shape and evolve the platform architecture to support current and future business needs.
- Incident Response: Act as a key incident responder, sharing on-call rotation responsibilities to ensure quick resolution of platform issues, with an emphasis on root cause analysis and prevention.
- Security Focus: Work closely with the Information Security team to integrate best security practices into infrastructure design and management.
- Automation and Optimization: Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting systems, ensuring that automation is leveraged to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Collaborative Projects: Partner with cross-functional teams across Development, Product, and Security departments to deliver key platform projects and initiatives.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS or GCP. (This is a L4 position)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
- Proven experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role, with strong automation and scripting skills.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Certifications in AWS or GCP (preferred but not required).
Technical Expertise:
- Expertise in Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP), containerization, and CI/CD tooling.
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in automation tools, scripting (Bash, Python, etc.), and infrastructure as code (Pulumi, Terraform, Ansible).

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Security-focused mindset with hands-on experience integrating security into infrastructure.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting to changes and taking on new challenges.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on proactive solutions and long-term fixes.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, providing timely response and resolution for infrastructure incidents.
- Willingness to work flexible hours when necessary to support after-hours maintenance or emergencies.
